A dapple is like a small, white "eraser" mark. Dapple gray horses usually have dapples throughout their entire body, often with darker colored points. "Dapple gray" consists of a dark hair coat with "dapples," which
are dark rings with lighter hairs on the inside of the ring,
scattered over the entire body of the animal. It is another
possible intermediate step in the graying process of the horse.
Dappled grays should not be confused with the slight dappling
"bloom" seen on horses that are very healthy or slightly
overweight, as "bloom" dapples disappear should the horse lose condition.

Bentley is a sweet horse who loves being loved on. A lot of people can't believe at first that he was used as a breeding stallion since he was two until he was gelded, as he's so laid back, and not all of his relaxed personality comes from his training, a lot of it is natural, as he has an excellent temperament and mindset that he nearly always passed on to his get.

Bentley loves people and can get very nosy when he feels he isn't receiving the attention he deserves. He's playful and still acts like a youngster in that when he's bored, he plays games such as stealing brushes, hats, riding crops, etc… whatever he can get his mouth on. If you're ever missing something, it can probably be found in his stall, as that's where he 'hoards' the things he steals.

Bentley is also a little pesky in that he's very smart and often gets into things he shouldn't, such as knocking a wheel-barrel over when his stall is being cleaned, untying ropes, and finding ways to annoy humans in general. He is a real character and loves to sunbathe, which often can frighten barn hands and other people who don't know his habits, as when sunbathing, he will lie completely still and ignore everyone, not even twitching when his name is called. Bentley is definitely an odd-but-lovable horse who somehow manages to worm his way into just about everyone's hearts.

Bentley has champion blood lines, though his breed isn't widely known, you would probably know the champion jumpers and sport horses in his ancestry if they were named off to you. He was born onto a farm where they bred sport horses, and when a certain mare who was a excellent sport horse with lovely breeding lines, healthy as can be, was retired to the paddock as a brood mare, they knew they had to get a foal out of her.

Massimo Dutti had searched and searched, and finally came across the perfect stallion, big and recently retired from his reining career of a champion show jumper and evening uses. They had decided to put him up for stud, and after paying a reasonably large price, they bred the two. When Bentley was born, he certainly sported his excellent blood lines and was a big foal. He was very rambunctious from the the beginning, and when he started to grow, they couldn't believe their eyes. Like almost all Hanoverian, he grew fast, but some how avoided the usual health condition of Osteoporosis and before they knew it, was jumping his paddock gates.

The stallion, who was then 2 years of age, would trot down the mares barn, teasing them all like the playful, flirtatious animal he was. Then one of the grooms would run out and snatch him and he would fight them the whole way back, enjoying his fun. Once though, they got an accidental foal out of him. The Mare he had was a gorgeous filly who showed her sires eagerness and well breeding in every way.

They nearly decided to put him up for stud but focused him on jumping on showing, not wanting to put him to waste. They had sent him off to a trainers for at least two weeks, and when they went to pick him up, he had been cut across his tongue to make him more responsive to the reins, and whipped horribly. Bentley never had lost his spirit in that horrid place though, as soon as he saw them in his paddock, he banged against the gate, challenging it to keep him from them. They discovered his cuts when they had taken him home, and they fought with the trainer and gained their money back.

Then, they hired a personal trainer just for Bentley and had kept an eye on the lady, watching her make the young stallion excel. They castrated the stallion after a show or two, and then after he recovered, sent the near 4 year old into shows. He excelled greatly, wining many first place ribbons and bringing in a lot of winnings to MDS.

When Trips turned 8 years old he was gelded, that's when Cole showed up at the barn. When Cole first worked there Bentley showed a liking to Cole and Close loved him as well. Bentley was the first horse the Cole has ever rode and when they rode together the manager of Massimo Dutti stables saw a bond like no other. So, she decided to give Bentley to Cole.

A young Arabian Horse, pearl fur with just the faintest hint of a grey mane give this mare an elegant color tint and a nice contrast. Deep grey eyes make her look all the more pure and her rather surprising tall height for her age give her a magnificent stance.

Luna is a bit of a tomboyish mare with a playful personality. She won't go as far as stealing things (with the exception of an abandoned apple or such) but no doubt knows how to make a trainer annoyed. Despite this more sneaky trait, she is a loyal horse that just wants to be loved by everyone. She excels at show jumping because of her height, seemingly boundless energy and athletic build. Luna is friendly and loves to meet new people although it'd be a lie to say that she likes them all. Towards other horses she has a kind and carefree personality that bonds easily.

Luna was a normal horse, born in England and she stayed there for her whole life. Her previous owner wasn't big on the whole 'letting your horse explore' type of thing and so she always felt as though she was being watched. Luna was an orphaned horse and so she was constantly making friends out of the few other horses her owner boarded. She didn't exactly come from champion bloodlines but still showed the signs of a promising show jumper. But, her trainer grew bored with her and sold her to MDS.

At the mere age of 2, while Alexa was just a stable hand at Massimo Dutti Stables, she bought him using some of the spare money she had after university. Luna did have quite a bond with her and so after a week of Luna's stay she was officially the Manager's horse, although her one was already enough for her, she saw something special in Luna.

Dusty is 8 year old Akhal Teke. Her color is a soft creamy tan color, whith white socks -white towards her hoofs-. Her mane is a pal shade of creamy yellow, and her face lightens to a soft baby pink shade towards her nose.

Dusty is quite the trouble maker. She knows how to open her stall door and will often go into other stalls to steal food. She is a hoarder by nature and will hide her food in order to get more. She loves to steal treats and apples from the riders.

Dusty is not suitable for new riders who have a fear of falling, for she has a bad habbit of bucking when tired-annoyed-or happy. She needs a firm hand, so is best suited for an experienced rider, but once she gets to know you she is a totally love bug.
When angered or feeling playfull, she will turn her head around to bite her riders boot.

Little is known about Dusty's background. She was born in Texas on a tiny farm with at least 12 dozen other geldings and mares.
Not long after her birth, the owners of the farm died, all the horses either dieing off from malnutrition or coyote attacks. Dusty and a gelding named Zero were the only two that survived and had become wild.

The two were sent to Massimo Dutti Stables, and once ridden, Dusty remembered all her old tricks.

Zero is a Marwari horse, which is known for it;s in turned ears. Marwari horses are very rare, often only being found in Marwar Region of India. He has a dappled coat consisting of the colors tan, cream, white, and beige. His mane is a very pale yellowing color, and during the summer most of his mane ends up falling out and regrowing ticker in the winter.

Zero is definitely the sweeter of the two horses. He is perfect for both new and professional riders, but, like his companion Dusty, requires a firm and gentle hand. He will not respond to force, and must be showed kindness. He is very skittish, often bucking and biting if frightened or scared. He is a trouble maker, and often breaks his stall door open and ride up and down the hall, trying to antagonize the other mare's and geldings.

Zero was born in Marwar Region of India before being sold to a nice couple who lived in America. From the beginning, he was a very laid back horse, but once arriving at the farm he became skittish and hard to ride.
Only a year or two after being bought, the owners of the farm died from old age, and all the horses either died off from malnutrition or coyote attacks. Zero and the mare Dusty were the only two that survived and had become wild. They were found months later, roaming around the abandoned farm and were immediately hospitalized. Before they could be sold, they had to be re-broken in and trained all over again. For his counterpart Dusty, she remembered her training, but Zero has since been harder to train.
Once arriving at the Massimo Dutti stables, he Katrina Coramacoff's horse, along with his best friend/possible mate Dusty. He has since become a very trained yet skittish horse with a big heart.

Bay is probably the most common of all horse colors, and it is the result of the agouti gene acting on a black coat. Like his name means (the greatest), Max is quite a proud young guy. He definitely likes to flaunt himself off, especially when in the show ring and gives jumping a good effort. He absolutely hates it when he misses a jump however and often, when he is discouraged, the horse gives up. When this happens, he throws bucks and becomes nearly impossible to work with. After riding with him for nearly a year, Jesse has gotten used to his little tantrums. He can be a little nutcase with bad habits, but with someone confident and some he trusts riding him, Max is an extremely talented horse.

Caution Around: Can be aggressive toward other more dominant males. Flower boxes spook him at times as do large, new, loud and or neon things. He is young after all and doesn't know much quite yet.

Coming from a highly ranked and competitive Warmblood breeding facility, Max quickly was thrust into the jumping world. He trained with amazing trainers and was ridden by world champions. He was thought to have a lot of potential and meant to bring the barn a lot of money when he was sold. Wanting a good horse since he was one of the few people that could afford it, Jesse caught sight of the horse during his time in Belgium on a business trip. He immediately asked how much the animal would cost. Since the horse had a high level of potential, Jesse kept his eye on the horse as Max grew up and finally decided to buy him on his 22ed birthday. Immediately, Jesse was amused and proud of his “Maximo”. After working with him for weeks with a highly regarded trainer, Max’s potential really started to show. Jesse grew close to the animal and had to bring him with him to MDS when he came. Here, Max resides, quite happily being a champion or a butt; and of course, making Jesse crack up whenever he can.

Freedom is an intelligent horse to be around. When in the paddock he is a wild boy. He likes to be a leader and show off.

When in the ring he is a show off and a hard worker. He works as one with his riding and follows her every lead. He tries his best not to mess up and is passionate about what he does.

Freedom was born and raised where Sofina worked. He was born a year before Sofina started working for his owner and saw her every time she came to work. Whenever Sofina came in to check on the foals he would go up to the door of the stall and watch her. His mother acted like the lead mare around all the other mares so that is how he got his leading charm. He would joke around with the other foals and have a fun time.

As Freedom was growing up he had to spend most of his time in the paddocks. When he was 4 years old he saw Sofina fall off the white mare and hurt her leg. He knew her pain so he ran around his paddock multiple times and stood still for a moment every time he went to the corner next to the arena.

When Freedom was 4 he started his main training. He was an easy learner and was pretty well behaving after the first few months of training. The trainer he had was very strict and wasn't afraid to use a whip more than once. When he turned 5 he went to a basic dressage competition and got 4th place. It was a great start for a horse like him.

When Freedom was sold he had no idea who he had been sold to. He stayed at the stable where he grew up as boarding. Sofina's parents placed a blue bow on his halter before they went and came back with Sofina. He could sense they she was very happy to see him and had a sense that she was now his after seeing her everyday after that.

Sofina and Freedom trained long and hard with each other. When Sofina started out riding him she would do simple things to practice her balance and strength. Soon enough they started to do some simple dressage together. Although Sofina doesn't know much about dressage and Freedom has great potential in it, they still have a lot to learn together.

I must say that Honey is a beautiful horse. She has a strong build & lots of muscle. After all of those events you'd expect her to be nothing but the best. Honey is a white andalusian horse. Her hair is grey but at the tips blond. Also, throughout her body a little bit of grey creeps into the mixture of white. She has pitch black charming eyes that just tops off her beautiful looks.

While around the stables or just trotting in the open field Honey is a playful little horse. She loves to roam or jump. Mostly, during her time spent at the stables she is bold and always likes the most attention but knows when it is time to stop and let other horses go before her.

During Events or training Honey likes to show off her skill and looks. I'm not going to lie, she is a pompous little brat. But, she tries to be respectable and bold at the same time during show time.

Overall Honey is respectable, bratty, bold, but sweet. Whenever you are angry she is your go to horse! Despite her brattiness she is a lovable sweet heart.

Honey was born at a farm out in Scotland. Her whole family lived there with her up on a mountain with a little farm house with stables and a fenced in large area to graze. But, then the day came. The old farmer and his wife went bank robbed. They couldn't take care of the horses anymore. So, all the horses got sold around the world. She never saw her siblings again. Luckily, her mother & father was sold with her to the same stables as she was.

At the new stables people cared for her and treated her better than ever before. She got lots of food & care. Not a single horse or person neglected her like she expected. For the first time she was actually happy. Happy wasn't even the word. Exhilarated. She was exhilarated with joy and happiness. But, she still wondered if her siblings were okay though.

Time passed on and Honey started to get sad. She missed her siblings. People never rode on her. Even her father & mother were happy. Not a single person would inhabit her as their horse. Until the day Faith Brent showed up. From that day forward she was happy with her new owner.

Firecracker has an mellow personality. Being gentle to anyone who give her an treat (apple or sugar), she is quite an easy horse to get along with despite, Gaagii's many threats to cut out her treats. Being a female, she loves when her mane and tail is combed an brushed, tipping her front hoof showing her appreciation of the treatment. She loves to run, especially when Gaagii is the one riding along with her.

Mischievous is this untamed spirit weapon. Firecracker may be friendly to approach and touch, but don't let her sweet exterior fool you. She doesn't allow anyone to ride her. Sure Gaagii is her rider, but she isn't one to buck another off her back. Instead, she nibs at their foot, so do be warn: she bites if you try to ride her without Gaagii permission.

Mahkipiya Luta, affectionately, called Firecracker by Gaagii, was born given to the Indian boy on the day she was born, which happened to be Gaagii`s fourteen birthday. Mahkipiya Luta received her name after she was born. Born under the last few rays of the setting sun, her caregiver had said she resembled a red puff. This Mahkipiya Luta meaning red cloud was born. Sickly yet spirited, Mahkipiya Luta was passed along to the young Indian, who raised her. Under his care she became his good friend and grew into a healthy young filly by the time Gaagii was ready to go to college.

Due to the no pet rule on campus, Gaagii has convinced the manager of Massimo Dutti to allow her to stay while he attend classes. Everyday, Firecracker knows she must have her fresh red apple and sugar cubes from her most favorite person, who visits her everyday.

Bethany is a gentle. She loves to play a good game of catch me, meaning she takes something of yours and trots away. A people lover, she will walk right up to anyone and nuzzled their shoulder. She is a quiet horse, whom can seem aloof at times. She tends to tap her foot whenever she hears an kinds of music, humming, singing, or instrumental. Calm in times of loud situations, such as a gun going off, she doesn't start easily.

In addition, she is also submissive to most. She can be a bit on the shy side when meeting new horses. Nervous in storms and in the face of danger, she needs a firm hand to hold her in place, in which Samuel provides. Other than that, a gentle hand can get her to do almost anything. She tends to be on the introverted side for the most part, while taking interest in anything that catches her interest.

Bethany was brought from Massimo Dutti Stables when she was only a three years old. Unknown to the good people of Massimo Dutti Stables, she was sold into horse ring, where horses are either sold or proceeded. Being held in a small area, along with several million horses, she was treated cruelly, but better than most. The owner's child had taken a shine to Bethany, and demanded to have her. However, her father had Bethany taken away. Orso he thought.

Samuel came across Bethany just before she was shipped off to somewhere across the country. With the handlers being shady, Samuel was able to buy Beth as his own. From there, Beth came to stay at Samuel's small temprory home. Deciding that he needed some place for his new horse, Samuel returned to Massimo Dutti. He pays for Beth to have her own place here among the others.

A pinto horse has a coat color that consists of large patches of white and any other color. The distinction between "pinto" and "solid" can be tenuous, as so-called "solid" horses frequently have areas of white hair. Various cultures throughout history appear to have selectively bred for pinto patterns.

Many breeds of horse carry pinto patterns. Pinto coloring, known simply as "coloured" in nations using British English, is most popular in the United States. While pinto colored horses are not a "breed," several competing color breed registries have formed to encourage the breeding of pinto-colored horses. The word "paint" is sometimes used to describe pinto horses, but today is specifically used for the American Paint Horse, which is a pinto-colored horse with identifiable American Quarter Horse or Thoroughbred bloodlines.

Pinto patterns are visually and genetically distinct from the leopard complex spotting patterns characteristic of horse breeds such as the Appaloosa. Breeders who select for color are often careful not to cross the two patterns, and registries that include spotting color preferences often will refuse registration to horses who exhibit characteristics of the "wrong" pattern.

Yoda is a friendly and inquisitive horse. He has to be in your face all the time and he has to know everything about everything around him. Which means that if you leave something open, he'll be in it.

This flashy boy has great confirmation and a spunky little attitude. In truth, he’ll listen, but he acts like it’s only because he wants to. Yoda is trained in Eventing because of his charm and excellent confirmation. He has also been trained under saddle, but needs a rider who has a strong seat and is not afraid to get bucked.

Demeter rode Yoda's mom in dressage competitions up until she was half way through her through her pregnancy. Demi has been with Yoda since the day he was born, which was a good thing since his owners wanted nothing to do with him. It seemed that in her opinion she was a top show horse and caring for a foal was way beneath her, so rather then having the colt pushed to the side to die, Demi begged the foals owner to let her have the foal.

Yoda was gelded at 6 months of age.

All of Yoda's training, to date, has been done by Demi and she used him as a project for her the animal husbandry part of her vet training.

Tobiano is a spotted color pattern commonly seen in Pinto horses, produced by a dominant gene. The tobiano gene produces white-haired, pink-skinned patches on a base coat color. The coloration is present from birth and does not change throughout the horse's lifetime, unless the horse also carries the gray gene. (see below)

Other spotting patterns seen in Pinto horses include overo and the sabino markings. In the United Kingdom, Tobianos are frequently referred to as "Coloured" or as Piebald (black and white) or Skewbald (white and any base color other than black). However, Bay and white horses are also referred to as Tri-Coloured.

Standoff-ish and temperamental are good terms for Tau. He hates everyone and everything, or at least that how he displays himself. You could walk into his field with a bag of carrots and he'd still flatten his ears at you before walking off. He needs to be the boss of the paddock, and will put other horses in their place if they need to be reminded who's top-dog. He will even flatten his ears at Demi, but once she has her hand on him, he's the perfect gentleman - he knows that she means protection. He has the utmost perfect ground manners, as long as his girl is with him. However, if you get a chance to watch him in the pasture without him knowing you are there, you can tell he's just a baby that wants to discover the world around him as he investigates everything around him. The only horse that he gets along with really well is Yoda.

Tau's life started perfectly; he was born at a sporthorse stud farm, his dam a maiden mare with perfect Arabian bloodlines. His sire, a handsome Friesian stallion with beautiful shape and form. With the foal, the breeders got just what they wanted, a mixture of his parents' perfect temperaments and his dam stunning colouring.

Training started from day one for young Tau, and even though it started early, everything was done carefully and with enough time so that the colt was able to take each thing in before something new was introduced.

He was sold off before he was trained under the saddle, and that's when everything went wrong. The young colt was purchased by a man who ran a busy competition yard, and all of the horses were treated like machines. They were tacked up, ridden, untacked, and put back into their stalls. There was no time for taking things slowly, the horses there either adjusted to how things worked or the crumpled under the pressure.

Tau didn't do either. Instead, he fought back. This didn't work out well for either horse or humans and finally Tau's spirit was broken and he finally gave in. But what was the use of a horse with a broken spirit. He was then sent to one auction after another. In the slaughter pen was where Demeter found him, along with a handful of other horses and ponies that she knew she could help.

While in his paddock, Flame is generally a calm horse and doesn't really care much for what is around him. He likes to stand in the shade on hot days and just eat. He isn't a very social horse but loves the attention of a crowd.

When in the show ring, Flame is very determined and graceful. He glides over jumps like a champion, just like his father. In dressage he a beautiful and strong horse, while in cross country he is a speeding bullet through the coarse.

When Flame is in his stall he feels a bit territorial. He doesn't like it when a stranger comes into his stall but he is fine when they are just out of it. He is tame and can be petted, tacking is just a little difficult because he has a habit of moving around but that is something you can get past pretty quickly though when you get used to it.

Flame was born as a champion. The father of Flame was a famous for winning show jumping competitions while his mother was known for producing good foals. He grew up at the farm where he was born and started training at the age of three. Flame was a hard to handle horse when he started in his training.

When Flame was 4 yeas old he had been trained hard and was expected to go to a competition soon. The show jumping competition he went to was for basic beginners. At that show he we won 1st place. After that was the start of a career for the horse. When he was 5 he had two 1st place ribbons, one 2nd place, one 4th place, and one 6th place ribbon. He was then sold to a nearby farm for an expensive price, there is where he was trained in Three-day Eventing. In his first competition he won 3rd place. After that he went to world-wide competitions.

When Flame turned 8 years old they decided to sell Flame to get some money out of him. They ended up selling him to a girl nearby named Linda Willow Patterson. Flame went with Linda to college where she rode him almost daily in the disciplines he is good in. In those four years they went to competitions and even won first place in Three-day Eventing 5 times. After college they went to England together.

Legend has calmed down a lot over the years. As a young stallion, he was high strung and nearly impossible to control. He is still very spirited and definitely a handful, but he has learned to be obedient. Delilah doesn't really lets others handle him, simply because he performs best for her. In fact, he's never had another rider in his life time. Legend is very affectionate towards Delilah, but he is rather indifferent towards anyone else.

Legend was bought by Delilah's father, important as a young colt. Delilah's father was proud of the extremely rare colored Oldenburg and knew he'd be worth his weight in gold. He worked often with the colt, but soon discovered how hyper and spirited he was. Due to an accident with Legend, Delilah's father died and the horse sat in the pasture for two years. As an unruly three year old, Delilah took him on, training him as she had seen her father do with all the horses he owned. After many injuries on Delilah's part, Legend became just as talented as her father always knew he would be.

[Nox is a pure black horse, as her breed requires. She has no white spots, and barely any discoloring from the sun. Her blackness of her coat sometimes lightens during the summer, but it always gets darker again. Her name and even her nickname come from her coat. She has big, beautiful brown eyes. Aleia always keeps her coat healthy and shinny, so she is bathed often. Nox's mane is wavy, as is her long tail. Aleia will sometimes cut her tail short in the summer to help with the heat-if it gets really hot. Nox's mane is very long, and occasionally, with a lot of spare time, Aleia will even straighten out the waves.]

[Nox is a very well-behaved and intelligent horse. She loves her owner and has been trained well. Nox is loyal and quite smart, knowing what is needed. Aleia barely has to tap her sides or move the reins to have Nox turn, jump, or anything else, really. Nox is not one for hitting or kicking, as she is too intelligent for that.]

[Nox has a relatively normal history. She was born a purebred Baroque Friesian in the Netherlands. Nox doesn't remember it too much, because after about eight months she was sent to England. She was held for about six months longer so they could make sure that she wasn't sick or anything. Nox wasn't.]

[Nox was trained by somebody she barely remembers. Whoever they were, they were mean. She doesn't have scars or anything, but the person scared her. Nox quickly learned to behave and do what the trainer wanted her to do. She was quickly "broke" and sold.]

[Nox gladly remembers being bought by Aleia. Nox had known something was different about her, and they took immediate liking to each other. When Nox figured out that Aleia was nice and wouldn't treat her meanly, Nox quickly started to love her and became very loyal. Nox is very willing to do what Aleia wants her to do, which is how she barely needs to be told what to do. And how Aleia can easily-and fairly quickly-teach Nox dressage.]

[Spirit was once a wild horse. He was born in the wild, and knows how to take care of himself. Slowly, the rest of his herd was caught and taken away. It was very upsetting for him, and he would always try and free other horses, even if they didn't want to be freed.]

[It was one of these days, when he was alone, herd-less, that Spirit tried to free a beautiful mare. He didn't realize, though, that her fence was barbed wire. He tried to break the fence, but his leg got caught. Spirit pulled, trying to free his leg-to no avail. Then he tried to push through the fence, and he got injured even more.]

[At evening, when the mare's owner had to come and find her, he noticed Spirit. He thought about shooting the stallion, but didn't. Instead, he came over and helped Spirit out of the barbed wire. With Spirit's temperament, he couldn't handle him, even when he was injured. That's how Aleia came to get him.]
