If you dislike math, this book will make you want to bang your head against a wall. The narrator tells the story of Uncle Petros, the black sheep of the family. He is considered a failure by his younger brothers. It is the narrator, his favorite nephew, who shows an interest in his life as a mathematician. Uncle Petros tells his nephew of his journey from boy math genius to failed professor. His ultimate downfall being Goldbach’s Conjecture. I found this book very interesting. I’m a nerd and liked the math. It was interesting watching the obsession Petros had for math and how it ultimately led to his downfall.
