February 2019 - The Name Game

I selected random, and got . . . Laser BirdSmasher :)
I will contemplate this while I shovel, and use the gophering as the carrot to actually finish shoveling :/

I don't have a cat so I filled in the generator imagining Rob as my cat. I got Admiral Birdsmasher.
I'm sure I can make bird work but I'll think about other ways.

I really like random generator challenges! Thanks Janice.

Love that you are imagining Rob as a cat Peggy! Have you told him about it?

I considered it, but he'd probably only look at me weirdly ;-)

I've got 3 cats, but I decided to model it on the cat in my profile pic, Casper. His new name is Naked McTroutMeat! 😂 I don't think he is thanking me right now! 😆
I'm off to gopher.

Great challenge, Janice! No cats or dogs here, but I have a couple of hours until I get to my computer to decide how I go with the random button or if I pick in another way.

P.S. just for the heck of it, I tried with Sahel and got Flaming NapMissile. My cats do not seem impressed, I do not think I am going to rename their IG account....

I got Chainsaw McMurderFeet. Hmm. This one has lots of possibilities.
My gophering:

As long as you have a plausible explanation as to how you arrive at your connection, it will work. You're quite inventive with your reasoning. :)

My Cats’ new name is:
Laser NapMissile!
I might have to look for something spacey..
This will be challenging for sure.

Anyway, after much deliberation, in honor of "Laser BirdSmasher" I have decided that I will read All the Birds in the Sky

Off to my pile to see what I van make of that. My first thoughts are wild animals, dentists, scottish authors, murder mysterys, feet or foot wear. But who knows where me imagination will take me 😜

I have two cats: Pele, named after the Hawaiian goddess and Booker after my husband’s favorite bourbon. What a fun challenge.

For grins, we did Scout, too. She's now Intrepid BirdSmasher!
I like the book options a bit better for the 2nd one, but am being honest and sticking to the first one I did.
So, I'll be reading Naked in Death, my first J. D. Robb romance/mystery. I'm expecting I'll enjoy it.

Almeta, I still have kitchen and bath towels with that "Love to eat them mousies" ditty. Tickles me every time I see and read it.
Hmmm... Do I still have mugs? I have lots of cat-related gee-gaws and thingamabobs.

I went with the initials CM, and have decided to read The Child Garden by Catriona McPherson. Added bonus, the author's name stars with "cat". It's also a murder mystery so I think I'm well covered.

I think they have to be related! I wonder how many more McTroutMeats there are out there? 😉

Or Fuzzy Nation? You could go for the initials F.P.

Or Fuzzy Nation? You could go for the initials F.P."
Fuzzy Nation was the first thing I thought of when I saw this too.

My sweet kitty is now Chainsaw McMurderFeet. 😳 The top two books I'm considering at the moment are The Mysterious Affair at Styles (murder) or This Is Me: Loving the Person You Are Today by Chrissy Metz (same initials).

I tried again, using my daughter's outdoor cat as a model and got Stabbers McTrout Meat. Flaming and Stabbers aside, McTrout Meat seems to be in my future read. I will use this to gopher with, somehow.

That will work, Camilla.

Another MurderMittens. We are family.

Psst... I think all cats do... : )

Have you ever agonized over what to name a cat? (Okay, I know some of you are dog people, but play along.) Do you want a name that reflects her personality, her colouring, or the unique thing she does? Fret no more because we are going to use a cat name generator that will not only help us rename our cat, but will help us find a perfect challenge book.
Simply go to this site and follow along. You can plug in the attributes of a cat in your life, make them up, or simply click on the "random" button.
I selected:
Age - Old as dirt
Colour - Mixed
Indoor/Outdoor - Indoor
Favourite thing - Sleeping
Results: Chainsaw MurderMittens (Poor Cleo! I don't think she'll like her new name.)
Once you have your cat's new name, find a book that will somehow reflect that name. You will need to explain how your book selection fits your cat's name.
I could pick a book with "Chainsaw" in the title, or one on the cover. I could read a murder mystery. "Mitten(s)" could be in the title or on the cover. I could read a book by an author with the initials CM, or CMM. The possibilities are limited by my imagination.
