Share your three favourite fictional relationships and why you love them!

Bonus question: add a fictional relationship you wish existed. Don't choose yourself as part of that relationship though (view spoiler)[because we'll have a topic for that coming up (hide spoiler)].

So in order of how much I love them:

I've put the couples names in spoiler tags so that anyone who hasn't read the book won't be spoiled although its probably a bit redundant for Pride and Prejudice lol.

1. (view spoiler)[Darcy and Elizabeth (hide spoiler)] from Pride and Prejudice. I have such nostalgic memories of this pairing and because of that I doubt anything could take them from the top spot in my affections.

2. (view spoiler)[Kaz and Inej (hide spoiler)] from the Six of Crows duology for no other reason than I just love them and I think that despite how different they are they make a great couple.

3. (view spoiler)[Frith and Wydrin (hide spoiler)] from The Copper Promise trilogy. I am obviously a sucker for the opposites attract trope since I have just realised that it can describe all of my top 3 picks (and my bonus answer come to that).

Bonus: (view spoiler)[Harry and Draco (hide spoiler)] from Harry Potter. My inner teenage girl just demands this answer. I spent so many hours as a teenager reading fanfiction on this fictional relationship :-).

I have even read/watched, and I know about Mr. Darcy...

I think my favorite relationship is Kate and Curran. I can't even think of another one I love as much.

I have an answer for the bonus question, though:
(view spoiler)[Fitz and the Fool (hide spoiler)]from Robin Hobb's Realm of the Elderlings. I'm not a fan of the couples in that series but I would have liked to see those two together as a couple (and I'm sure I'm not the only one, am I?)

I might be biased by recently read books, but a new favorite is definitely (view spoiler)[Vasya and Morozko (hide spoiler)] from the Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden. Also from the same series Vasya and Solovey make a great team, I'm a sucker for human/animal friendships!

Otherwise, (view spoiler)[Aragorn and Arwen (hide spoiler)] from LOTR and I also really like (view spoiler)[Harry and Ginny (hide spoiler)] from Harry Potter.

Bonus: Do movies count? If so, (view spoiler)[Hiccup and Astrid (hide spoiler)] from How To Train Your Dragon have a great relationship, and of course Hiccup and Toothless have the absolute best friendship. I just saw HTTYD3 again tonight and cried even harder than the first time.

Didn't even think of movies or these two would have been my bonus answer as well. I really want to see HTTYD3 but I've also been putting it off because I am so not ready to have my heart broken 😭😭😭💔💔

GO SEE IT!! You definitely get your heart broken but it's in a good way, I promise!

1. From Alexander's Chronicles of Prydain: Taran and (view spoiler)[Eilonwy. I read this series of 5 books as a 12 year old and re-read them recently with my son. The growth of the relationship between Taran and Eilonwy from teenagers who are somewhat irritated by each other, to slightly older teens who grow to respect and admire each other, to almost young adults who wish to share a life together, is really sweet without being sickly. 2. From Tahir's Ember in the Ashes series: Laia and (view spoiler)[Elias. This relationship sort of has Romeo and Juliet-esque themes - two young people from the opposite sides of a cultural divide, must work together to overcome oppression. Slightly anxiety inducing but impactful. (hide spoiler)]

3. Agree about Tolkien's LotR characters: Aragorn and (view spoiler)[Arwen. This turns out to be a relationship of religious proportions with elements of; unconditional love, faith, hope and sacrifice. Epic stuff! (hide spoiler)]

Not sure about the bonus question, but hugely entertained by others answers to this :-)

Sticking to just 3 is so hard!

1. (view spoiler)[ Alina and the Darkling (hide spoiler)] from the Grisha trilogy. (view spoiler)[ It's not a functional relationship, or a romantic one but I love their back and forth, the way they respond to each other and they way their stories intertwine. They really were the only beings who could truly understand each other. I was rooting for them even though I knew it wouldn't end well. If they had worked together that could have created something magnificent and beautiful. (hide spoiler)]

2. (view spoiler)[Vin and Elend (hide spoiler)] from Mistborn. (view spoiler)[They were excellent together and brought out the best in each other. They complemented each other perfectly and I adore them. (hide spoiler)]

3. (view spoiler)[ Kate and Curran (hide spoiler)] from the Kate Daniels series. (view spoiler)[ These guys are everything. They're just explosive in all the right ways. They truly deserve each other and I was rooting for both of them. Kate is a badass, Curran is terrifying, it works well. (hide spoiler)]
