It's time once again to nominate your choices for our group classics read, this time for March and April. For convenience, we at AAB are defining a 'classic' as a book that was first published 50 or more years ago, i.e. first published in 1969 or earlier.

Nominations will be run for 10 days and will close late on February 17th. (10pm UK time) The poll will then run for a week from the 18th February until the 24th February.

During this time anybody can either nominate or second a book. The 6 books with the most second votes at the end of the 5 day nomination period will go into the poll. Each person can either nominate one book or second one book. There are no limits to the number of seconds a book can receive.

Please only nominate, second or vote for a book you will read with the group if it should win. Please also check that your chosen nomination hasn't been a group read in the past. You can do this by looking at the group bookshelf or browsing through the Group Fiction folder.

If you have any questions on the nominations process please post here, use the 'Ask the Moderators' thread or contact one of the moderators and we will be happy to help

I second Two Serious Ladies. I'm particularly intrigued by it!!!!

message 11: by PattyMacDotComma (new)

PattyMacDotComma How about one of the Daphne du Maurier classics? A couple of groups have recently read Rebecca, and it was very popular. I've not yet read Frenchman's Creek or Jamaica Inn, but I'm happy to nominate any one of those three.

It's no bother, you don't need to link the book, as long as you have the author's name so I know exactly what you're talking about.

I searched the bookshelf using the search dialogue box and it didn't show up. How do you search to see what titles you've read without scrolling through all the books? I did scroll through just now, so I can see it, but is there a quicker way?

When you click search the first time, there should be an option for topics only to show, click on that and then search.

Our poll is filled but this could still change, if another book manages to get more seconds, it could knock the last book, Father and Sons out of the poll.
