If you're having trouble remembering the name of a book and need help with remembering it then this is the place to ask for help from the members of the group.

Lisa (shewholovesthesmellofbooks) | 6 comments I read a book when I was a kid about this girl who moved somewhere, like to the country, and there was a boy there (romantic interest lol) and a cat she called MacDuff, and maybe she called him or another cat a Grimalkin (sp?). I'm sure it was a y.a. book, nearly positive.

Do u know what genre it is? I've never read a book like that before but looking to see if I can find it. The closest thing I found so far was a comment from someone on the Iron Fey series mentioning a char named Grimalkin.

Lisa (shewholovesthesmellofbooks) | 6 comments Probably young adult fantasy?

Lisa (shewholovesthesmellofbooks) | 6 comments It was at least 1994 or before - possibly 95.

I doubt that this is it but could it be Sabriel?

Ya know. I would have suggested Anne of Green Gables at first til you mentioned that cat. So looking for other books with what you mentioned. Was there anything else distinctive about this book? Was it a series? Is the author well known today still? That you know of. Also remember anything special about the cover?

Lisa (shewholovesthesmellofbooks) | 6 comments I don't recall the author, although I highly suspect it was a woman. I also imagine the book was older, maybe 70s. It was a paperback with an old-fashioned cover picture. I'm pretty sure it had the girl, the cat, and maybe a barn?

Dhfan4life | 1051 comments Hey sis was this the shark shifter book you were talking about? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N...

I think Angie is interested in reading it. But I couldn't recall the name of it to be sure if that was the right book or not.

Nada, the one I read has a shark on the cover. It's Touching Paradise. If I remember right the first one is free on amazon
