Depends which one makes the story flow better.

Carrie Lynn Bacon (clhayton55) | 100 comments It doesn't matter to me as long as it's a great book to read.

Tamika (BookCraze16) | 208 comments I like first person better. But I'll read either. I do find however, that it takes me longer to read a third person book.

Becca Watts My preference seems to change from first to third. Lately I think I prefer third person, but I sometimes prefer first person because you can see the mc's personal thoughts and opinions.

Mystic Orange (Rumell) (rkrespectedmember) | 2543 comments I like first person because it makes sense and makes you feel how the other characters are behaving in front of you. However, you would wonder what the other characters are doing when they are not in front of you.

Also I like third person because you see the wider variety of each characters and you see how they are completely different. It is easy to distinguish every character. It is like watching TV. However you are not experiencing someones emotions as much as first-person.

Thanuja Dankotuwa | 35 comments I prefer first person because it takes you deep into the mc's feelings.it gives you a vivid picture of each character through the mc's vision.
I also like third person.if the auther is clever he will let you feel the characters through his vision.in first person you only know the things that the mc know.if he is in the dark, you too are kept in the dark..while in the third person we see the story as a someone who is watching the characters staying in a side so get to know the story through every character.with that you are not in the dark.every secret is revealed to you.then you are dying till the characters get aware of them.i prefer that also.
Actually I think it doesn't matter wheather the story is written in first person or third person.if the auther is clever he know which one to choose.and it becomes unique to to that story.

Mary (word_crawler) | 41 comments I prefer first person. I feel like I get to connect with the main character more because I have insight on their thoughts and feelings. There's more thrill to it also because you are left with what the main character knows. When it's in third person you get these glimpses if not the whole secret... so no more surprises.

Mystic Orange (Rumell) (rkrespectedmember) | 2543 comments I agree with thanaja

Anna | 34 comments I like both. Third person you get a clearer picture of everything, but first person you can really connect with the main character.

Mystic Orange (Rumell) (rkrespectedmember) | 2543 comments I agree with Anna.
In first person you get to focus the main character as an individual.
In second-person is like an instruction what you need to do and is very direct.
In third-person is like a full over view of various types of character.
I wonder if there is such thing as fouth-person or fifth-person.

em~thatdemmedelusivemurderess~ (thatdemmedelusivemurderess) | 9 comments I've always preferred third-person. I feel like it leaves more room for eloquence, and frankly (not saying this is true, it's just how it makes me feel) I always expect first-person stories to be -- pardon the expression -- teenybopper books. It's just that third person feels more... sophisticated.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 92 comments Yes, Anna's description works for me too.

How do you feel about some of the book being in third, and some in first? It can work, I think.
