Kristy (kristyb4) Ok so I have devoured kresley cole and Almost finished All of JR Wards Paranormal series and I am stuck as to what book or author to choose next. Once I start a series I’m compelled to read to the end. I love humour in my paranormal books and not excited by insta love or gushy over the top descriptions of their feelings.

Or any idea on a series similar to Kresley Coles or JR Ward?

Any ideas??? Please

Jenn Have you tried Shelley Laurenston’s shifter series? She always makes me laugh. And there’s Kerrilyn Sparks Love at Stake series and another vampire series The Argeneau Vampire series.

These are the only ones I know of that have humor in them.

My Penny Lane, Paranormal Investigator series has humour in it.

As far as paranormal series with great humor, I agree Shelly Laurenston is the best at it (she's also known as G.A. Aiken). My favorite series of hers is the Call of Crows series. Second best is the Pride series that starts with "The Mane Event"

The Unleashing (Call of Crows, #1) by Shelly Laurenston The Unleashing by Shelly Laurenston (Call of Crows #1)

The banter is phenomenal, the characters are somewhat crazy yet noble, the fight scenes are exciting and there is a ton if rich world-building and mythology.

For a strong pnr series similar to the Black Dagger Brotherhood? I haven't read J.R. Wards series yet for some reason, but will eventually. I've read MANY other series though and you might like these series that have a similar "brotherhood of immortal warriors" vibe going on.

Darkness Dawns (Immortal Guardians, #1) by Dianne Duvall Darkness Dawns by Dianne Duvall (Immortal Guardians #1)

Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian (Midnight Breed #1)

When Darkness Comes (Guardians of Eternity, #1) by Alexandra Ivy When Darkness Comes by Alexandra Ivy (Guardians of Eternity #1)

Born in Blood (The Sentinels, #1) by Alexandra Ivy Born in Blood by Alexandra Ivy (The Sentinels #1)

Fated (Dark Protectors, #1) by Rebecca Zanetti Fated by Rebecca Zanetti (Dark Protecters #1)

Kristy (kristyb4) Thanks for all the choices. Will start with the unleashing then look at the other suggestions. Appreciate your help.

Jenn I’m reading The Unleashing now and there is quite a bit of humor and banter between the characters. Her books are fun

Amy*skye.rhyme | 4 comments There are 3 books (besides The Unleashing) that have the absolute BEST banter and witty remarks combined with an equally great plot and well-written characters. In my opinion at least. They are:

The Soul Summoner (The Soul Summoner, #1) by Elicia Hyder The Soul Summoner by Elicia Hyder
(The Soul Summoner #1)

Feral Sins (The Phoenix Pack, #1) by Suzanne Wright Feral Sins by Suzanne Wright
(The Phoenix Pack #1)

Shadow Cursed (The Daughters of Darkness #2) by N.L. Hoffmann Shadow Cursed by N.L. Hoffmann
(The Daughters of Darkness #2)

Shadow Cursed is the 2nd book in the series, by the way, the 1st is "Blood Slaves" and it's good too, but I like this heroine better. They're sisters.

Let me know what you think if you decide to read these. They are some of my all time favs!

Annalisa Carr | 7 comments Nina Bangs is laugh out loud funny -
Angela Knight
If you liked JR Ward, you might like Lynn Viehl (and she's written a long series)
Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series
Ilona Andrews Kate Daniel series (probably my favourite series)
Larissa Ione - Lords of Deliverance

Hey, welcome to my club! I prefer to binge read series too for the most part, (in order once complete!) I hate that wait between volumes. I'm just a "gimme it all at once" kinda gal I suppose!

For occasional humor, I recommend the Night Huntress world by Jeaniene Frost and the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews, and for laugh out loud humor, try Shelley Laurenston, Celia Kyle, and MaryJanice Davidson and also the Damons Mountains collection https://www.goodreads.com/series/2168... by TS Joyce (watch out for Willa the Worm Lady!).

Kristy (kristyb4) So many choices and not enough time to read. That’s all for my now long list of new authors and series.

message 13: by Jenn (new)

Jenn I agree with you on that, way too many books to read and not enough time. I have enough on my To be read list to last me at least 2 years but then I go and more lol

message 14: by Kristy (new)

Kristy (kristyb4) Actually my fat fingers typed that’s instead of THANKS to all for my long list. Oops
So easy to hit want to read so I don’t forget them.

Rye | 8 comments If you like humour then try the Southern Sanctuary Series by Jane Cousins. Her books have the sizzle factor and the funny - major LOL material.

Start with book one To Woo A Warrior To Woo A Warrior (Southern Sanctuary, #1) by Jane Cousins . There are like 12 in the series at the moment and every one is awesome

message 16: by Kristy (new)

Kristy (kristyb4) Thanks, a series with 12 books to me is as good as a box of chocolates. Had a read about book 1 and have added to my want to read. Ta

Thanks - I'll have a look at these...

message 18: by Addison (new)

Addison Carmichael Briggs doesn't have much humor in her books, much more serious, in my opinion. If you're looking for great banter, I love Kelly Armstrong's Otherworld series. Great dialogue, with a lot of smart, tongue-in-cheek humor.

Actually, I'll plug my own PNR books, because I love to add a lot of banter and humor. Just released book #1, so check it out! Knight (Sons of the Alpha, #1) by Addison Carmichael

Glad to help. Love how the author weaves all the secondary/main characters and creatures throughout the series, and you have all these running jokes. The bridesmaid dresses really start to come into their own about book 5... that so won't make sense to anyone who hasn't read this series.

message 21: by Kristy (new)

Kristy (kristyb4) That’s fantastic. Can’t imagine a worse bridesmaid dress than the one in book 1.
