Wow, starting in the 50s late 50s defo giving my age away lol . Actually it's one thing that's never bothered me telling anyone my age. I was born may 58

Um, I'm new to the group and not really certain about how this challenge works. Are we reading books written in specific decades or books that take place in specific decades?

That's a good question. I assumed by publication date rather than when it is set.

This challenge is a good opportunity to think about books or authors I've wanted to read but haven't, mostly because I get distracted by new releases.

1930s - Rebecca (before my birth year, but I really want to read it!) - finished 3/31/2019
1950s - The Daughter of Time (another classic I've never read) - finished 3/11/2019
1980s - A Killing Kindness - finished 3/20/2019
1990s - A Place of Execution - finished 3/18/19
2010s - Before She Knew Him - finished 3/12/2019

Hi Barbara, either/or! Make it your own. We try to come up with fun challenges no pressure and no challenge police, lol.

I finished my original 4, and tossed in one current book (message 12). It was a fun challenge, and along the way I determined that my reading tastes have changed a bit over the years. I didn't enjoy The Daughter of Time as much as I might have once, back when I was making my way through all the Golden Age authors (which is not to say I didn't enjoy it, just not as much as I might have when I was more immersed in books of that era.) I think I enjoy today's stylists more these days, and I was so happy I'd included a Val McDermid on my list.
