Marc *Dark Reader with a Thousand Young! Iä!* (marcthedarc) | 660 comments My chapter 4 thoughts:

-Beware of casual sex in the faerie realm. Does not end well. (See chapter 1 for further evidence).
-That lilim witch queen is not very nice. I have not seen the film based on this book, other than a trailer, and if I recall correctly Michelle Pfeiffer was in it. I do not particularly care for Michelle Pfeiffer's roles. She must have played this witch-queen character.
-Tristran is indeed a dolt, much as his father was at his age.

Elisa | 13 comments To be honest I am not sure why most people/creatures want to help Tristran. It’s refreshing to see someone who wants no part in his ridiculous quest.

Ashleigh Motbey (ashybear02) | 1686 comments Tristran really isn't that bright, is he? He just goes along with whatever someone tells him.

Also, the star told him she'd try to escape and he still let her go? How thick can you be???

Still enjoying the story, though, Tristran is just an idiot.

Agreed. If anyone can pinpoint a moment or action that Tristan took that makes him worthy of the positive reception he gets, I would like to hear it.

SarahKat | 6240 comments I think Tristran's idiocy and the fact that everyone thinks he's worth helping is satire on the whole fairytale "I'm doing it for love" excuse. It's frustrating but also amusing.

I 100% am taking his idiocy as satire, because I feel that's how it's written and it definitely seems intentional. I too find the whole thing amusing, but have assumed all along that was the author's intention. Tristran is hilarious, because he's so... stupid.

Amen on the amusing part.
