Baz MW (bazcatt) I'd have to say one of my worst habits is buying books in a series that are out of sequence.
Depending on the flavour of the day, I've been known to stumble across and buy Book #4 of a series, for example, without ever having read 1, 2 or 3!

Luckily, twice a year the Lifeline Charity Bookfest comes to Brisbane and I'm able to fill the gaps pretty cheaply when a series really piques my interest. But it really is a terrible habit that I really need to get under control >.>

Which series have you been known to do this with?

I've recently had to start filling in the gaps for;
*Ian Rankin's Inspector Rebus series
*Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta series
*John Sandford's Lucas Davenport series
*Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoli & Isles series, and;
*Matthew Reilly's Scarecrow series.

Larissa Koch I've only bought out of sequence recently but intentionally. I'm taking advantage to all the decluttering to Konmari that is going on to collect books on my 'To read list'. I have 3 from the 'I am number 4' series by Pittacus Lore and picked up a couple of books out of two different Terry Brooks series.

Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments You are actually doing pretty well there Baz. I have been reading books out of sequence since the 80's. Actually, a few of them, I only figured out recently WERE a series.

Bookfest is good for filling them out - but have you noticed how the one book you want from a series is never on the tables?

And speaking of bookfest, June 15th! not that I am hanging out for it or anything.

Baz MW (bazcatt) Hahaha that’s decades of missing information without knowing it. That’s a great achievement! Haha
At the moment I am doing alternating between gap filling and non-gap filling books, so hopefully I’ll get there soon (and know better for next time) haha
