Jennifer Doris | 1 comments I am trying to replace my disintegrating paperbacks with sturdy hardcover editions. I am going for quality over collector's value. Does anyone have any recommendations about which publishers to buy and which to avoid?

Jacquie Scuitto | 261 comments Check out ABE books for used but good hard cover copies. I bought myself 13 books by a favored author for about $50 there for Christmas.

QNPoohBear | 1639 comments I like the original William Heinemann Ltd editions. I've seen some of the Australian editions in used/rare bookstores.

Ditto. As fond as I am of my old Pans they aren't standing the test of time.
