Awesome!

Ricky McConnell Good news ! I too enjoyed the long walk, great short story.

Mike (miketstl) | 14 comments I just started the book tonight and read the first part and so far it is quite good so I would like to see this happen too.

I think it is a good possibility as I bought the book at Walmart and they only had two other King books. They are most likely carrying this because it is soon to be an adaption.

Yes, I think you are right. There have been so many adaptations of his work recently that everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon. They'd be crazy not to take advantage of that.

Plus it's one of his best stories.

Jen from Quebec :0) (muppetbaby99) | 52 comments In high school AND University, I was known as being a Stephen King fanatic. Living in a dorm, ppl would often visit my room + inquire about my collection of King novels + ask which to read, or which to read NEXT (once I got them good and hooked, heh heh).

MANY times, I thrust this-- The Long Walk by Richard Bachman my copy of 'The Long Walk' into ppl's hands. It is SO UNDERRATED, and deserves frigging ACCOLADES! It is, by far, one of his best works, imo.

Not only is it very ahead of its' time (the idea of "REALITY TV DEPICTING CONTESTS TO THE DEATH, INVOLVING TEEN PARTICIPANTS" and "DESTROYED ECONOMY OF THE FUTURE HELD UP BY GAMBLING ON REALITY TV DEATH MATCHES" = Well, these were thought of by Uncle Stevie in the 1970's, NOT by Collins' The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins 'Hunger Games'!) but it is also a brilliant NOVELLA.

If you were to teach 'great use of the novella format' to a writing class, well- here is your template! ---Jen from Quebec :0)

I agree on all counts Jen, and you say it very well. I always thought The Long Walk was the precursor to The Hunger Games, and I like the way you spell out the connetions.
