I’m starting to get interested in a trip to Mongolia, so of course I’d like to steer my reading in that direction. On TripFiction.com I got a couple of ideas, All This Belongs to Me, which might be good if I can get hold of a copy, and surprisingly The Private Papers of Eastern Jewel, one of my charity shop purchases that has been languishing in my bookcase for years. In the past I’ve read Tim Cope’s On the Trail of Genghis Khan: An Epic Journey Through the Land of the Nomads.

Does anyone have other fiction or memoir recommendations for Mongolia?

*Edit: Just spotted another one on my bookcase, Slow Boat to Mongolia, which has also been sitting there untouched for years. That one's a maybe.

On my shelves that I hope to get to in 2019, I have The Blue Sky, written by an author who is from the Tuvan people!

Thanks Jenny, that sounds perfect! The Altai Mountains is exactly where I am looking for my trek.

Thanks Lilisa, I'm drawn to the first and last ones. The YA in particular sounds really engaging. Now it's just a matter of whether I can get hold of them or not.
