Anyone started anything yet? I just read The Halloween Tree and I'm happy to find out that it has a film based on it. Going to watch it soon!

And I’m training my listening skills lol, so I’d be listening to an audiobook anyway

It's really up to you to see if it fits that way. The movie might be based on all 3 books if it's conclusive but really it's your call :)

I don't think it's based on all 3 books, but I liked reading the book anyway, even if I feel like it doesn't contribute to the challenge. Might still watch the movie though :P I found out my other library book actually has a movie adaptation so I'll add that one :D

Alright :) You could still use the first book for that though.

For March.
For March.

Ok, that was the worst adaptation EVER! Ugh, such a waste of my time. They changed Poirot into someone completely different (imo that's a capital crime), changed every important detail in the storyline and added stuff that was completely unnecessary. Such a waste of my time.

Finally watched The Guernsey Literary and the Potato Peel Pie Society and of course the book was better. Half the characters were missing in the movie and I didn't get to see some fav scenes. However, it was still kinda good.

It's good that thew movie was ok, though it's a pity that a bunch of characters were missing :/

Yeah :/ Felt odd in the beginning with them not there.

This year is an experimental year, but my preliminary conclusion is that I shouldn't be reading a book right before watching the movie. Seeing that I have a very bad memory, just a couple of months in between the two, will be enough. But if I watch the movie right after reading the book I just can't enjoy the movie enough on its own merits. I will continue my experiment for the year, but I expect that 2020 I will either watch the movie that comes out OR read the book...

I'm not sure if it's the same thing but I find that if I read the book and watch the movie side by side, it all gets tangled unless I've watched/read one of them before. Now, I tend to let the book/movie settle in my mind before I pick up the other.
