Cynthia A friend recommended the Louise Penny books.... has anyone read them? Or any of them?

Susan They are wonderful.... have read the first three in the series

Cynthia Thanks! I was warned that the first one is not as good as the other ones, but that I should read it anyway...?

Susan I really enjoyed the first one! Her characters are amazing!

Cynthia Thanks! I am all ready to go!

Paula Smyth It took me to book 3 to really get into them but now am hooked and will finish the series.

Cynthia I really enjoyed the first one although I had a good idea how it would end about half way through... ready for #2!

Peter Read this a few weeks ago and enjoyed it , think it reminded me of my childhood reading the Famous Five all lovely locations and scrumptious food. Some great characters and lively banter and the plot was ok but guessed the guilty one towards the end. Still a good read and have now started the second in the series.

Linda Just recently learned about Louise Penny and am starting book 7. Good reads, loving characters. I think I'll be sad when I've finished #14, unless she's published #15 by then.

Cynthia thanks!

Hi Cynthia! I have read all her 15 books and loved all of them. Its very well written, well constructed and keeps you in the dark until the end. Each character is extremely interesting and different. The setting in Quebec is familiar to me somehow and that helps loving the books also. Google all the Titles of her book in the right order.

Have you read Kingdom of the Blind, suppose to be #15. But #16 just came out and the title is A BETTER MAN, and I will read it next week when it arrives. I also felt sad after finishing each book and hoping she will write another one!!!!

Linda Just now starting #13 and can't wait. Love the whole series and will actually be a little sad when I'm caught up and have to wait for her to write another one.

Beverley Hopwood This has been a fascinating series to read. Penny's writing is strong, the characters bold, and the detection work superb. Who wouldn't love the inspector, and in fact, all the characters, each portrayed so vividly. At the same time we can hate the crimes, even the criminals, the deception, the politicians. We can drool over the food, feel the breezes, the ice, the heat, and still want to know what comes next. What comes next Ms. Penny? Please don't stop now.

Huguette Ettinger Hi Beverley! I have already commented on her books as I have read all of them; your comments are right on, thank you for sharing. Although, I have to admit, to my great chagrin, that her last one, A Better Man, has left me a tiny bit disappointed. Still, like you I am looking forward to her next book.
