March/April Challenge

The challenge will start March 1st and end April 30th, although you are welcome to continue past then.

Spring is right around the corner and I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to see plants growing – leaves turning green and flowers budding. Although I love cooler weather, this year I’m ready for some warmth. With that in mind, there are several related tasks:

1. Read a book with a mainly green cover.

2. Read a book with flowers on the cover.

3. Read a book with someone in short sleeves on the cover.

4. Read a book that takes place in Spring.

March supposedly comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.
5. Read a book with a wild animal on the cover and/or read a book with a zoo or circus or wildlife center in it (can be a major setting or mentioned). Looking for the real thing, not the word used as in "It's a zoo around here.

6. Read a book with a farm animal on the cover.

March is National craft month.
7. Read a book with a character who owns or frequently visits a craft related business.

8. Read a book with a major character who does crafting as a hobby.

March is also Irish American Month.
9. Read a book that takes place in Ireland and/or with a character that is Irish.

And then there’s March Madness.
10. Read a book with a sports theme.

Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday
Fat Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday. It is also known as Mardi Gras Day or Shrove Day. It is a day when people eat all they want of everything and anything they want.

11. Read a book with food as a theme.
12. Read a book with a celebration in it.
13. Read a book where a character (or supporting character) owns a restaurant.
14. Read a book where a character (or supporting character) owns a food related store.

Easter is April 21st.
15. Read a book with a religious theme or with a character who has a religious occupation or with an event that takes place in a church.

16. Read a book with a rabbit, cross, eggs, or church on the cover.

17. People used to wear fancy hats on Easter. Read a book with a hat on the cover.
