Kody | 13 comments Hi, I'm looking for romance recommendations with a certain romantic theme. Basically the heroine is rescued by the hero. KEEP IN MIND, I'm NOT looking for this to be the actual plot of the story. I'm looking for stories where this is how the hero and heroine first meet each other. (Preferably i'm wanting the heroine rescued long before the halfway point of the book.)

Optional scenarios include, but are limited too:

Heroine has been held in captivity and the hero breaks her out.

Heroine is being assaulted/mugged and the hero show's up out of no where to save her.

Heroine is experiencing some sort of traumatic event (i.e. car crash or something) and the hero shows up to save her.

One last thing. I want to specify that the hero and heroine must NOT know each other until after the heroine is rescued. Frankly speaking it's a pretty common concept for the heroes to rescue their girls after they're already in love with them (Who wouldn't?). So that doesn't count. I'm looking for heroes who save random strangers in distress because they can, not because they're emotionally invested in the victim. Why? Because bad ass Good Guys are cool.

Here are some examples.
Croc and the Fox (Furry United Coalition, #3) by Eve Langlais
Her Fierce Warrior (X-Ops, #4) by Paige Tyler
Wild Cat (Shifters Unbound, #3) by Jennifer Ashley
God Touched (Demon Accords, #1) by John Conroe

P.S. For the record. I'm not sexist. In fact If you know some romances with a reverse scenario (I.E. Heroine rescues hero) then by all means throw them out there. Just specify that's the case so everyone knows. Bad ass Good Gals are cool too. And sexy. AMEN!

Jennifer (jmiddlebrooks) | 2 comments Susan Stoker just released a new book called Defending Morgan that you might like. The hero is a former Navy SEAL who now works for a private security firm. He and his team are sent to the Dominican Republic to rescue a child that has been kidnapped by her father. When they get to where the child is being held, they find there is another hostage (one that they didn't know about). This complicates the rescue.

The author does allude to the abuse (both physical and sexual) that the heroine experienced while being held captive. Not sure if that sort of thing bothers you? I thought it was handled in a pretty good way and it didn't overpower the story.

Chan | 5093 comments Hey Kody. I know a lot of books like that, but I'll provide a few below. Let me know if you need more:

Easy (Contours of the Heart, #1) by Tammara Webber - I'm not a big YA fan, but this book stole my heart
Forgotten Sins (Sin Brothers, #1) by Rebecca Zanetti - this series has four books and all of them (i think) have the early save, but it's also throughout the book too...yummy
Black Ice (Ice, #1) by Anne Stuart - this series has 6 books. If you can get past the aggravating heroines (they make you want to stab your reading device), you will enjoy the action and saving. But you have to be able to look past the stupidity of the heroines
Fighting for Flight (Fighting, #1) by J.B. Salsbury - not a huge save before mid point. the big save is at the end.
Protecting Caroline (SEAL of Protection, #1) by Susan Stoker - there is a save in the beginning, not exactly all one hero, but no less enjoyable.
Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) by Jamie McGuire - this relationship is a disaster. I'll leave it to you to deem it beautiful or not.
Show No Mercy (Black Ops Inc., #1) by Cindy Gerard - action through and through
Real (Real, #1) by Katy Evans - there is a lot of protectiveness in this book, but I can't remember if it was warranted or if he was just an OTT Alpha. I also can't remember if there is an early save.

Almost any of the older KA (Kristen Ashley) books will give you what you want. Link to KA page https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

Harper Sloan books too. As much as I've tried, I am not a Sloan fan. There are some hardcore fans out there that will swear by her books, but I'm not one of them. Link to Sloan's page https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

Again, let me know if you need more suggestions.

I'm looking into defending Morgan tonight. It sounds like a good read with the captivity hook to it. Thanks for the rec. Let me know if you think of any more

D.K. Daisy (kuucina) | 32 comments Okay, I hope I don't overdo this, but here you go - what I have read.

An Unlikely Seduction by Elizabeth Kelly - Short-ish, fast, steamy, historical romance. (The heroine on run in snow storm, the hero finds her and caries home.)

Pretend You're Mine A Small Town Love Story by Lucy Score - Contemporary Romance, heartwarming, emotional. (The heroine gets attacked in the parking lot, because she tries to save another girl. The hero saves her.)

Fake Wife Needed (A Bad Boy Romance) by Mia Carson - Short-ish, steamy. (The heroine on the run, gets into problems at the bar, the hero saves her, takes her home.)

Raze (Scarred Souls, #1) by Tillie Cole - Dark romance. (The heroine gets attacked in an alley, the hero saves her.)

Here are sort of these scenarios:

A Home for Lily by Elizabeth Kelly - Contemporary Romance, short-ish, sweet. (The heroine is in a car crash, the hero is a fireman.)

Sawyer (Buckhorn Brothers, #1) by Lori Foster - Contemporary Romance. (The heroine on run, her car crashes in the lake on the hero's property.)

Damaged and the Knight (Damaged, #2) by Bijou Hunter - Contemporary Romance, sad. (The heroine is trapped in a hotel room, starving and bad man leering around, the hero is sent to save her by her sister.)

Salvation by Noelle Adams - Dark Romance. More about heroine coping with life after abuse. Learning to live and love. (The heroine is kidnapped and locked in a basement with the hero. Both get rescued because the hero is undercover cop or FBI or something like that.)

Arrogant Devil by R.S. Grey - Contemporary Romance. (This is different, but I liked it a lot and we have a damsel in distress and bad boy good guy. So heroine is on the run - homeless and jobless and trough her sister gets a job at heroes ranch. Hero misjudges her and is mean, but lets her stay and work.)

As mentioned above Susan Stoker have many books with the hero saves the heroine situations.
Also Alexa Riley has them. Her books are short and steamy with insta-love and insta-lust, but I find sometimes it's nice to have a fast, steamy read.
Holding His Forever by Alexa Riley Keeping Her Warm by Alexa Riley

There is no such thing as overdoing it. The more information and recs, the better the post. Anyone not interested will just keep on scrolling. On that note I'm looking into Alexa Riley. Also "Pretend your mine" looks interesting. Thank you. If you think of anything else let us know.

Jennifer (jmiddlebrooks) | 2 comments Kody—Here is a book that doesn’t exactly meet your specifications but interesting plot. Wild Card by Lora Leigh. Hero is specials ops—SEAL maybe. He gets captured by a drug lord in South America, held captive, and tortured. His wife, the heroine, is told he is dead. He is rescued but it takes years to rehabilitate and he’s had significant plastic surgery because of all his wounds. The heroine still thinks he’s dead and he decides to leave her alone so she can move on. He keeps tabs on her from afar and returns only when he learns she’s in danger. When he returns they are “strangers” and he starts to work for her. There is an immediate attraction but she feels guilty for betraying her dead husband and he’s frustrated by how she’s clinging to her memories of her dead husband (he thought she would move on). She is kidnapped and he rescues her.
