After reading Arnav's book review about A Wrinkle in Time, I decided to give it a try myself. Science fiction is usually one of my favorite genres, and this book was a good representation of why. While Meg is living a pretty ordinary life, she doesn't see her father come back. After waiting and waiting, one day Meg meets these three ladies, who look very suspicious, that tells her how to save her father. She decides to take upon this mission and realizes that she must take on some horrible creature. She wonders if she'll come back alive, and when she'll come back. This turned out to be a better book than I thought, as the intro didn't really hook me into the story. After reading the intro I wanted to put the book back, but I decided to keep reading and the book went up from there. This would be a really good book to read if you like science fiction and mystery. Besides the intro, I think this book could easily be able to be many people's favorites.
I read A Wrinkle in Time many years age. It was the first science fiction book that I had picked up and read. I was pleasantly surprised when I found it an enjoyable read. The core message that I got from the book was the battle between good and evil is always there, even in an interplanetary setting. A warrior for good comes in many different shapes and sizes. Most people visualize a defender of good to be physically big and armed. Meg Murray proved that a teenage girl armed only with unconditional love and the power of the understanding of the importance of individuality can win over evil.
