What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read a story when I was younger that I seem to recall being a part of some sort of children's/middle grade story collection. I think it might have been a book of horror stories. The plot was about a teenage girl who meets a boy who later turns out to be a ghost. I think the girl turns out to have cancer, and at once point she runs away and lays outside in the cold. Possibly she freezes to death/almost freezes to death but the boy saves her.

I think the title had something to do with wind or a month of the year (September, November, or October maybe?)
