Amy | 12921 comments Just to cross-post with the TV rant thread, Colton is in Portugal with his three ladies (it looked gorgeous!), and he finally jumped the fence in a long awaited moment of immaturity.

Booknblues | 12064 comments I would love to stay there. What is better than sleeping in a giant wine barrel at a vineyard. Awesome and lovely.

Joi (missjoious) | 3970 comments Hey PBT'ers. Revitalizing this old thread to ask- have any of you folks visited Portugal?

Seriously considering Portugal- primarily looking at Porto (maybe a day trip to Duoro Valley), Lisbon, and Lagos or somewhere in the Algarve.

Obviously we're doing lots of research, I think this wine barrels are a bit out of my price range for staying, lol. Just curious if anyone here had travel experience/tips there?

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8414 comments Hubby and I visited Portugal back in about 1991. We were on a fly/drive vacay ... starting in Madrid and driving down to Grenada, on to Cordoba, Merida and into Portugal - Estremoz, Evora and Lisbon

We stayed in a pousada in either Estremoz or Evora (I just can't remember which). And at a more traditional hotel in Lisbon.

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 983 comments I visited Portugal a couple of years ago with my family of siblings, kids etc so we rented a large house in Sintra, definitely worth a visit, and day trips to the Atlantic by tram, and Lissabon with the train (we opted not to rent a car and that worked well). Very laid back people, good food, history, culture and a vast ocean - what's not to like?
