I have started. I like steampunk. It is such an interesting genre.

How cool are the ships!!!

Prince Aleksander had to grow up really quick. At one moment, he is playing with toy soldiers, next thing he is piloting a Walker. He lost his parents then had to assume responsibility of his own protection with the two trusted men who were loyal to his father. Prince Alek could have continued to be the spoiled royal instead he chose to become a valued part of the crew.

Deryn is spunky. Deryn is choosing to hide the fact that she is a girl so she could do what she always dreamed. She out works the boys and men around her for that privilege.

I didn't get started yesterday, but I will today!

The Walkers are neat! They remind me of the AT-DT from Star Wars :) But the flying beasts...No way!

Alek is going to have to learn about the real world quickly...The hard way.

Yes, not really sure I would want to be in it, either. I felt sorry for Alek. He lost both parents, his kingdom, his childhood and is running for his life.

Yes, she has a lot of secrets. Yes, I'm finished. I really enjoyed it. I picked up the next book.

What do you think is in the eggs? Dragons or maybe some dinosaur?

I really enjoyed this one. I love Deryn and Alek...they're fun together. Deryn is very good at finding solutions to problems.

The eggs...I think maybe dragon. That would be awesome!

To throw all that gold overboard...I would have cried :) Deryn made it through without anyone finding out her secret...Though do you think the doctor knows? She seems to be very aware of what's going on around her.

I'm on the waiting list for the next one. If you have it I can download it and we can start Monday?

I don't read steampunk a lot, but I always enjoy it when I do. I love that he had Darwin and Winston Churchill in the story...Completely different world but names we recognize.

I understand why they threw it overboard but it was sad to see it go. Can you imagine stumbling on those gold bars?

The Dr is very perspective so I think she knows about Deryn's secret. Please let it be dragon eggs! I love dragons!!! I don't read a lot of Steampunk, either. I definitely enjoy each time I do. I do have the next book on my shelf if you are interested. What do you want to read next?

No kidding, I can understand them being cautious still, but I can't believe they couldn't see that Otto had saved them....And tried to shoot him!

Not only was it crazy to try and shoot Otto but in close quarters the hazards are high. The new machines are cool. Love the elephant!

The Germans got there first to Constantinople. This is not going to go well. What the heck is the thing in the egg? I so thought it was going to be a dragon.

I'm disappointed in Alek's opinion of girls. I know in that time women were considered beneath men but I thought Alek would have been different. What is he going to think when he finds out that Deryn is a girl. The barnacles are cool! Not sure if I really trust the reporter. What are the Germans really up to?

I'm not that far but should get further tonight! I'm looking forward to his reaction when he finds out she's a girl...He'll be surprised for sure! I think he's going to be mad…Feel betrayed maybe.

I understand why Deryn didn't tell Alek but the longer she waits the worse it is going to be.

I'm finished. I did pick up the last in series but I know we are suppose to start Anglel's Blood today.

I think the Resistance is going to be tricky. The more people who know your secret, the more dangerous it is. I'm not really sure I would trust them completely yet, but they have proved to be valuable so far.

I love the walkers and the beasties! I would NOT want to go scuba diving with that thing that Deryn had, though...It sounds gross, lol.

We can start the last one maybe next week? I want to find out what happens to Alek :)

And then maybe we could read ?

I totally agree. I really wasn't sure about the Resistance. I'm glad that turned out well. I want to find out what happens with Alek and Deryn.
