R18: Team #1 ~ ONE More Chapter

Hi Megan - did you choose a book for the Alpha Male shelf?
Thanks!"
I think so, I'm going to try and read Falling into You (shelved 29 times as alpha male).

Me again, Megan! I'm so sorry....I thought I saw a review for this, but now I don't see it. J..."
No, I haven't finished it yet and think I might change it because I'm bored with it.

Neither -- I was finishing packing up and selling my old house. Hit the weather just wrong for flying; not too bad though because was a nonstop flight and the pilot deviated north to delay us 1/2 hour but avoid bad weather.

I don't quite know what to make of this one. The plot is interesting enough, but the timing felt off. Withholding the information about how seeing ghosts work from the main character and the reader was probably meant to be mysterious and intriguing, but felt annyoing and frustrating - because it was quite pointless.
The 'romance' arc...I could have done without it. I couldn't feel any chemistry between the two leads, and actually felt in some places that the female lead (main character, ie ) was being creepy and intrusive. So yeah, no.
Nevertheless I think I won't give up so quickly. I will try the next book and see if it is an improvement over this one before I decide whether or not to drop the series.

The was a fun read, that kept me flipping pages and wanting to keep reading to see how it would end. I was a little disappointed with the ending, while it wrapped everything up it felt like it was lacking something.

I really love this series! I don't know why it is taking me forever to read it!
The mystery was good and kept me guessing this time. Roarke and Eve's interactions were great as always, but Peabody was my favorite in this one! I loved when she asked Roarke to kiss her boo boo (not like that, but still) which was on her lip and he kissed the corner of her mouth. Peabody and McNab were so funny!
This is my go to series, so it was a given that I should read it for "series"!

I'll post my owed reviews this evening.

I liked seeing a glimpse into a person with CF life, though I'm not sure how accurate it was...(view spoiler) .
I only wanted to read this as I saw that there was a movie about it, and mistakenly thought it was a book-to-movie adaptation. I hope that the movie is better. Not a book I'll be recommending.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

What can I say about this book?? I love Mercy and her family of misfits! This book didn't disappoint. There is a lot going on in this installment. But....Black Magic Witches! - Beware no one is safe!!
It was a little sad with what Adam did at the end....but I was happy that he was able to do it! He did what he had to do, as always he had the welfare of his people at heart.
Looking forward to more!

Previous Bingo Rounds - 5 star reads for inspiration, please check the book to make sure it is still listed as Kindle Freebie, if you wish to use it.

I've answered the question on the discussion thread, but basically, doesn't matter if the book is still free, just needs to be listed as kindle freebie on the top shelf of the book. Those books I listed were previous 5 star reads in previous bingo rounds for the Kindle Freebie shelf, just in case someone wanted some inspiration.

So I want to read Beguilement by Lois McMaster-Bujold.
Depending on how you look at it, her name starts with either a B, or an M :D
Beguilement

I just noticed the bookcovers on the shelf announcement so will try to read the still free Bloodfire by Helen Harper from that post.

How is everyone doing with their books? If you have completed a shelf and haven't posted review yet, try to get those posted when you have a chance.
There are ten teams that are 1 away from Bingo. We are 2 away in several scenarios, if we finish up the called shelves.
We have 4 called shelves open, with a new one to be called on Wednesday.

I am the person who likes the weird and the unusual and the strange. Well, this book is all of those things.... but it was little too much for my taste.
I felt like the story just drug on and on and it doesn't ever seem to reach a destination. For me it really was the never-ending story....well, more like the story that never really went anywhere!
The tale is told through the minds of several different characters....even a moose! But it's all rambling thoughts to me that never get you anywhere.
I really wanted to like this book, but sad to say I did not.

Review:
This was an honest to goodness May-December romance, and even though the synopsis pointed at the romance, I was not prepared for the age gap. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the story and the mythology. I liked Dag and the Lakewalkers almost immediately, whereas Fawn (the female lead) took a while to like, what with he very low self-esteem (those are never really easy to read, are they). Once she got herself some spine, she became quite fascinating. All in all, a great tale of first love after infatuation (Fawn), and a second chance at love (Dag), intertwined with some wonderful mythology. I liked it very much and look forward to the other books in series

The opening chapter was very interesting and kept me flipping the pages, but after that I slowly started to lose interest...Harper was a bit annoying. I started enjoying it again once it was revealed why Harper became what she was, but I still feel as though I'm missing something. Hoping the next book will clear things up.

Review: It's a good thing I liked these two together. A favorite series, but this one was rather light on the overall story arc. Didn't really advance the series much nor reveal very much of all the mysterious goings on beyond what we already knew. Some hints, of course. And Mercy and Riley together were overly foreshadowed before finally getting together -- I still enjoyed reading their story. And seeing familiar characters with a bit more revealed of Hawke and others.
I love how this author writes and stayed engrossed the entire book so it rates four stars. I'm not so sure this book couldn't be skipped by others reading the series or maybe just a brief summary. Wrapped up a little too conveniently.

Yes, if it is tagged Favorite Series or is on the shelf, it works. (well, it has to meet the standard book requirements, too)

Wow! Why oh why did I wait so long to read this book?? I am very very happy to see that there is a 4th in the series. While this book was pretty awesome, it would have been a shame to end on the cliff hanger that presented itself in the Epilogue.
I loved getting to know all of the "family" and seeing the extent of their magic. All the characters are so interesting and seeing them explore and discover the level of their magic was great.
Now, Nevada and Conner - yum! We have seen these two grow over the books and now they are truly partners (view spoiler)
This is a great series, with awesome characters....the only thing I'd change is the book covers!!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Review: Fun being back with familiar characters and seeing all the relationships growing. Okay, still not necessarily the deepest or most complicated mysteries -- but good story with characters I'm invested in.
I didn't guess the big reveal of this one, but it made sense. Still a little sappy, but I'm definitely reading on for more of these characters and hoping to see if baby sister gets over not wanting to be a witch.

I've requested the stamp for Physic Abilities, so we would just need to complete "Kindle Freebie" to be in the race to complete a bingo....Of course it all depends on the shelf called, but we could be ready and waiting..... :-D

Review: I'm enjoying these cozy paranormal mysteries. Was going to read this one next anyway regardless of shelf call so worked nicely.
What also works nicely is the non-angsty progression of relationships -- even though still a whiff of potential love triangle. The mystery and storyline of this one didn't flow as well. Maybe partly because introduced so many new characters but mostly because left big huge clues to the very end and sledgehammered in surprise villainy by one character.
Oscar the pig/gobgoyle's disappearance was just kind of off because mysteriously referred to all these fairy folk that really didn't show up. Not sure if any of it was pivotal to this book; maybe will prove to be important for rest of series.
Which I will read. I still like these characters even if tired of some of the until-the-end murkiness.

Still have some of Bloodfire left to read and then I should have I'm the Vampire, That's Why finished this weekend.
I really want to get those two reviews posted in case Wednesday's shelf call makes it a race.
