I have view only access to my sheet. When will I be able to start editing?

OMG! I used the wrong email address for my google sheet. That's why I can't edit. Doh!

Please be patient while we fix this:-)
There are some spreadsheets mixed up in the wrong locations (under the wrong name ) and the Master Spreadsheet needs to be tidied up. Have fun reading (once the challenge starts) while we sort everything out!

Isn't a poppy a late summer sort of flower? Like sunflowers?

That's what I thought too. I'll play it safe and use a book with Daisy instead :)

Now I have to decide how quickly I want to populate my spreadsheet. Or if I will do my usual of planning a bunch of books out and then reading totally different books.....,

The book is

EDIT: Never mind, this book is written in verse as I don't think it works anyway.

Luckily there are plenty of instruments classified (on wikipedia) as wind instruments that one would not think of straight away, stuff that's not as obvious as clarinet or flute or whatever.
So... hope is not lost :D

I didn't find anything with instruments among my kindle books that would have been less than 300 pages (that's the usual cut-off point I use when looking for books to read), so I'll probably won't do those tasks. Neither will I do the BOM task and probably not the South Africa either. But I found a beaver, LOL!

On the cover, or in the text?! I found a bunch of books with "beaver" in the text but I'm having a hard time with the Canadian Animal on Cover task. (Unless we're allowed to use wolves; or, more specifically, wolves that aren't easily identifiable as Canadian Gray Wolves... )

The beaver was in the text.
Re the wolf: I sort of assumed any wolf would do. As long as it's approximately grey and not green, LOL!

I was using that one too.
@Laura: So in other words, we can use any wolf?
That makes it much easier :)

Don't mind me, I forgot there was a separate wolf task and thought we were talking about something else. I'm going on vacation soon and not all here.

9. Read a book with a Canadian animal on the cover

Also, similar question but with Deer:
Are any deer Canadian enough?

https://workingholidayincanada.com/10... and this one: https://www.cbc.ca/natureofthings/blo...-..."
Both those lists work.
I wouldn't accept a green wolf or a shape shifter wolf for the task #9.

I just don't want to be told afterwards that they don't work.

I had found some shitty-looking Bear-shifter books w/grizzlies on the covers. I'm actually kind of glad we can't use shifters, as it saves me from these books, LOL.
Bummer about wolves though, since so many wolves used on covers represent shifter characters in UF and PNR :(

I put it to the mods already; just waiting for a response.

Yes but no shifter deer. Is there such a thing?
Side note- deer populations are decreasing because of coyote populations.

ISBN 10 would be the 13 less the first 3 digits (978, which is the code for bookland)

That's not quite true, you also need to recalculate the final checksum digit using the ISBN-10 algorithm. There are web pages that do that for you, e.g. https://www.isbn.org/ISBN_converter

Huh! I think it's different in U.S., though we have different problems. :/
Re wolf/deer on cover, I think I'll play it safe and go with non-fiction. There's lots of that for both animals :)

Just wanted to ask first instead of just making the change myself so I didn't mess anything up :)

So the way I read that is...
I have a Kindle with an ASIN ; let's say https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
because the rule is "if no ISBN listed for the version you are reading, use GR default"
That means that I need to check the default for the ISBN which is:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
and ISBN 0008272115
I hope that makes sense

yes, I'm going to go with permanent. I've updated the FAQ spreadsheet

Yes, it does, thank you Karen! And if the ISBN-10 is missing, I'll just convert and add it. I was just confused because the goal FAQs also stated "it does need to be the version you are reading that has the ISBN".

When you google “spring words” that’s one of the things that comes up. Which is good because there are so many book titles that use it. Maybe not associated words like “wake” or “awake” since they are more generic and therefore don’t fit, but definitely “awakening”
ETA: I may use "spring" in the title instead, unless the book that I found is a DNF. Then I will just fall back to "awakening" 🙂
