Yes, we will change you from Leaf to Bloom.
This was Karen's original task so lets wait until she weighs in for this answer.

Maybe one of the approved suggestions meets your fancy?

The April bonus is just one book; we like to change it up sometimes :-)

Huh, that’s weird! I haven’t edited since midnight (EST) anyway but the countdown clock still says there are 7.5 more hours. :/
Marissa wrote: "As I was entering in my books to the spreadsheet, it reached midnight, and the tab locked. I have the book titles and dates in, but while I was checking the tasks, it locked. Is there anyway I can ..."
Marissa sorry I didn't check the countdown clock before I went in to lock the April/May tab. ( Ugh... check clock first. Rookie mistake. You have editing rights now. Go back in and edit)

Yes you do. However as stated above I messed that up unintentionally... Solution is also posted above. Scroll up and read :-(

Thanks for letting us know we missed this query; according to tin eye its not white so unfortunately won't work for the red and white cover task.

Oops! Sorry, I must have had the thread open for a bit before I posted. Thanks!! (my tasks/books sent)

Thank you

Thanks! No problem, I have a back-up plan :)

I finally found the tineye you're all talking about (at first I was just getting reverse image search things, and couldn't for the life of me figure out how that would help, lol), and I am struggling to find the difference between ones that have been approved and turned down.
Any more guidance? As I've spent far, FAR too long on trying to find something, and I'm losing the will to live :D

Thank you! :)

I'm sure there's more than 3... Vonda McIntyre for one :(

Besides Vonda McIntyre, there’s also Gene Wolfe and Warren Adler, among others.

The only wikipedia list I found had lots of non-authors on the list.
If anyone is a fan of the movie Argo, Antonio J. Méndez (Ben Affleck played him) died and he wrote several books including Argo.

Several poets, a couple of sci-fi writers, a couple of spy novel type and I think I saw a mystery writer on this.

Yes, but only because your request was made before the start of Month 2.

Would this count for a red/white cover

Tineye
- 45.1 % Valencia (Red)
- 23.3 % Sundown (Pink)
- 22.9 % Light Coral (Red)
- 8.4 % Wewak (Pink)
- 0.3 % Hopbush (Violet)
Thank you
Thank you everyone for being so patient today while we spent Easter holidays with our families and friends instead of on Goodreads answering your questions!
We will get back to answering those red cover tasks ( and the other ones) tomorrow:-)
Winners for Month 1 will be posted in the next couple of days while we finalize s/sheets.

Yes, they have still lost their sense of sight so it works

or this?

(I asked about this one before but since I'm asking cover questions again, I'll add it here too)
red and white?

If a book has 2 main characters, with alternating POV, and one of them has a name from the list, is that okay? Or does it have to be a book with one single “main” character?

there is a list using google
Red and white cover questions
* The red and white cover is to represent the Canadian Flag which is only red and white so no other colors are allowed for this task.
* If you are unsure of if the cover is red and white, you can use Tin Eye to check
If posting in this thread for confirmation of a cover, please post specifying why you are asking.
Because it has a colour other than red or white on the cover? Then no, it doesn't count.
Are you unsure if the colour is red? Check tineye. Do you disagree with tineye? Post here and tell us why
It will be much quicker and more helpful for the mods for you to post the cover AND why you are asking about it.

The first one just looks like stars. I think Haunted on Bourbon Street gives more of that diamond sparkle
With the coloured cover question, please see above (I'm pretty sure that cover has another colour on it)

I see more than red and white in these books, according to tineye.

2) For the "character has lost one of their senses" task, would the Mistborn series work? One of the characters becomes an Inquisitor, which means they have metal spikes through their eyes. They can't see anymore, though the spikes do allow them to use magic to sense their surroundings. Since they've lost a traditional sense, does it count for the challenge, even if it's made up for with magic?
