The 'Last on the Bandwagon'/Trendsetter Challenge - May 2019

How it works:
For this challenge, you may read books of your own choice, but if you would like to earn some bonus points, then you need to read books which are popular, but which you haven't read before, OR books which are not yet popular, but might be soon ☺
**Books which don't count for Bonus points may still be used to earn page points and buddy read points as usual ☺**

Please note - To qualify for either of the two different types of bonus points -
* Your book must be classified as 'Young Adult', 'New Adult', or 'Adult', we will not be giving bonus points on children's books, middle-grade books, poetry, illustrated books, plays, graphic novels, or non-fiction books.
(You can still read these types of books and earn page points +/- buddy read points, you just can't earn bonus points.)
* It must also be the first time you have read the book.
(You can still earn page points +/- buddy read points for re-reads (as long as it has been at least a year since you last read it), you just can't earn bonus points.)
* Your book must be at least 200 pages long.
(You can still read shorter books and earn page points +/- buddy read points as usual, you just can't earn bonus points.
You also cannot add shorter books together to reach 200 pages for bonus points in this challenge.)

To earn 'Bandwagon' bonus points:
* To qualify for 'Bandwagon' bonus points, as well as meeting the criteria above, your chosen book must also have at least 30,000 ratings on Goodreads, OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved'*** at least 100,000 times on Goodreads.
If your book fits those criteria, these are the bonus points you can earn -
+2 points if your book has more than 30,000 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' at least 100,000 times on Goodreads.
+2 points if your book has more than 500,000 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' at least 1,670,000 times on Goodreads. (Edit: missing a 0! number is 'shelved' at least 1,670,000 times on Goodreads.)
+2 points if your book has more than 1,000,000 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' at least 3,340,000 times on Goodreads.
(and yes, those add up ☺)
+2 points if your chosen book has been made into a film or TV series.
+2 points if your book has been buddy read in this group before (prior to May 2019).
+2 points if your book was first published more than 10 years ago (prior to May 1st 2009).
(maximum of +6 bonus points per book)

To earn 'Trendsetter' Bonus points:
*To qualify for 'Trendsetter' bonus points, as well as meeting the above criteria, your chosen book must also have less than 1,000 ratings on Goodreads, OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved'*** less than 3,300 times on Goodreads.
If your book fits those criteria, these are the bonus points you can earn -
+2 points if your book has less than 1,000 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' less than 3,300 times on Goodreads.
+2 points if your book has less than 500 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' less than 1,650 times on Goodreads.
+2 points if your book has less than 100 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' less than 330 times on Goodreads.
(and yes, those add up ☺)
+2 points if your chosen book was first published in 2019 (or will be published in 2019/2020).
+2 points if your chosen book has not been buddy read in this group before (prior to May 2019).
+2 bonus points if your chosen book is the first book written/published by that author.
(If the author has previously written books/novellas/short stories/fanfiction/stories on Wattpad etc. then you will be unable to claim these bonus points.)
(maximum of +6 bonus points per book)

Bandwagon points:
If you've never read

+2 points if your book has more than 30,000 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' at least 100,000 times on Goodreads.✔
+2 points if your book has more than 500,000 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' at least 1,670,000 times on Goodreads. ✔
+2 points if your book has more than 1,000,000 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' at least 3,340,000 times on Goodreads. ✔ (over 5 million ratings)
+2 points if your chosen book has been made into a film or TV series. ✔ Definitely!
+2 points if your book has been buddy read in this group before. ✔ Yes,
+2 points if your book was first published more than 10 years ago (prior to May 1st 2009). Yes - 1997
(maximum of +6 points per book)
So you could earn the maximum of 6 bonus points for this book ☺
Other books that could earn you lots of points if you've never read them before -

Trendsetter points:
If you were lucky enough to have an advance review copy of

+2 points if your book has less than 1,000 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' less than 3,300 times on Goodreads. ✔ Yes!
+2 points if your book has less than 500 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' less than 1,650 times on Goodreads. ✔ Yes!
+2 points if your book has less than 100 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' less than 330 times on Goodreads. ✔ Yes!
+2 points if your chosen book was first published in 2019 (or will be published in 2019/2020). ✔ Yes!
+2 points if your chosen book has not been buddy read in this group before. ✔ Yes!
+2 bonus points if your chosen book is the first book written/published by that author. No ✖
(maximum of +6 points per book)
So you could earn the maximum of 6 bonus points for this book ☺
Please note -
* All books will earn bonus points based on their own individual merits, if you read the first book in a series and earn bonus points on it, that does not mean that you will automatically earn bonus points on any other books in the series. This means that if subsequent books in a series don't qualify for bonus points, for example, if they are less than 200 pages long, or do not have enough ratings, then you will not earn bonus points on them, only page points +/- buddy read points.
* You can only earn one type of bonus points per book, you can't earn both Bandwagon and Trendsetter bonus points on the same book.
* Even books that don't count for bonus points can still be used to earn page points and buddy read points.
*** If you go to an author's page on Goodreads, like this - Jackson Pearce
Scroll down the page until you see ''author's' books' - eg: 'Jackson Pearce’s books' above the list of books written by that author. Click on ''author's' books' eg: 'Jackson Pearce’s books', and it will bring up another page with a list of books published by that author, if you then look at the top under the author's name it will tell you how many times that author has been shelved. Eg: Jackson Pearce has been shelved 198,871 times (probably more now!).

Rules/Guidelines:
* Books must be read between the 1st of May and the 31st of May inclusive. Books started before May can be used, but you will only earn points for pages read in May, and will not earn any bonus points. Please let us know how many pages you have read in May when posting your review, and please note that you may only submit a maximum of 3 books per person which were started before May.
* Books must be over 100 pages long, without illustrations/photographs/diagrams etc.
-- 150 pages minimum for middle-grade and children's books.
-- 300 pages minimum for poetry, books written in verse, manga/graphic novels, books which have some illustrations, and plays.
-- Books which are mainly illustrations, such as some children's books, picture books, and some non-fiction books etc. cannot be used as part of this challenge.
(These numbers do not refer to minimum page counts for bonus points)
* Middle-grade, and children's books without illustrations/photographs will earn 1 point for every 150 pages due to the reduced word count. This applies to all books which are tagged 'middle-grade' or 'children's' more times than they are tagged YA. This includes Goosebumps books, The Wind in the Willows, the Magisterium series, and The Secret Garden to name a few.
(Middle-grade and children's books cannot be used to earn bonus points in this challenge, only page points +/- buddy read points)
* Books which are illustrated or have photographs will receive 1 point for every 300 pages. If your book has an illustrator listed or is tagged 'illustrated', then it will fall into this category. This includes books such as The Spiderwick Chronicles, A Series of Unfortunate Events, books by Roald Dahl, Doll Bones, and Charlotte's Web to name a few.
(Books which are illustrated cannot be used to earn bonus points in this challenge, only page points +/- buddy read points)
* Manga, graphic novels, plays, poetry, and books written in verse will receive 1 point for every 300 pages due to reduced word count. If your book is tagged 'Sequential Art', 'Graphic Novels', 'Comics', 'Manga', 'Poetry', 'Verse', 'Play', or words to that effect, then it will fall into this category.
(These types of book cannot be used to earn bonus points in this challenge, only page points +/- buddy read points)
* If your poetry book or graphic novel does not meet the minimum page count, we will allow you to add together the page counts of 2 or more books to make it to the minimum page count. Books must be posted at the same time, and must be less than 300 pages each.
(This does not apply to bonus points)
* If you are reading novellas which are less than 100 pages long, you may also add together the page counts of one or more novellas of less than 100 pages, to get to the minimum page count of 100 pages. Books must be posted at the same time.
(This does not apply to bonus points)
* You are welcome to read physical books, ebooks, and audiobooks for this challenge, and you are also welcome to read in any language as long as you provide us with an English translation of your review/updates either as part of your review, on your team's review thread, or by personal message to either Abbie or myself.
* If for any reason you are unable to publish your review on Goodreads, it can also be sent to either myself or Abbie via personal message. Please let us know that you will be doing this before you do it though, and please continue to post on your team's review thread as normal, and stating 'review sent to Sarah/Abbie by personal message' after 'Review:'.
* Re-reads are allowed as long as it has been at least a year since you last read the book, and you write a new review or updates. We recommend that you post on your review '2019 re-read', or something to that effect so that we can easily see what your new review is. (Please note that for this challenge you cannot earn bonus points on a book which is a re-read.)
*A review or 4 detailed updates will be required for each book read.
*Buddy reads must have a minimum of 4 comments to count, and comments must be detailed, and about the book. We also expect you to discuss the book with your buddies, not just post updates and leave.
* Buddy reads must take place within this group (YA Buddy Readers' Corner ♥) to gain the extra points. You can see which buddy reads are already planned each month here - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
* You should not start a buddy read more than 7 days before the start date, or more than 14 days after the start date, or the last comment on the thread, whichever is later. If you do need to change the date, check with your buddy as they may also be able to start early/late with you.
* If there is a gap of more than 14 days between comments we will consider the buddy read thread dead, even if you have already started the book.
* Group Buddy Reads can be joined to earn buddy read points, but only GBRs for May 2019 will count.
* If you are using a 'series' buddy read thread, it is still expected that you will be reading the same book in the series as your buddy, at roughly the same time. If a buddy read thread is reset for book 4 in a series, then it is expected that people will be reading from book 4, and if updates are posted for books 1, 2, or 3 they will not be counted as you do not have a buddy reading those books with you.
* If you are joining a series buddy read thread, and it is more than 14 days since anybody else on the thread finished the book that you're reading, then the buddy read will not count.
* Please post the link to your buddy read along with the book you are reading and the start date on the 'Planned Buddy Reads' list for the correct month - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
* There are no set books which need to be read, any book which fits within the rules will count, so books can be chosen by the reader. Please check with us before reading if you are unsure whether your book counts or not.
* To qualify for 'Bandwagon' bonus points your chosen book must have at least 30,000 ratings on Goodreads, OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved'*** at least 100,000 times on Goodreads.
*To qualify for 'Trendsetter' bonus points, your chosen book must have less than 1,000 ratings on Goodreads, OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved'*** less than 3,300 times on Goodreads.
* To qualify for bonus points, it must be the first time you have read the book. Re-reads cannot be used to earn bonus points, but still qualify for page points +/- buddy read points.
* To qualify for bonus points your book must be classified as 'Young Adult', 'New Adult', or 'Adult', we will not be giving bonus points on children's books, middle-grade books, poetry, illustrated books, plays, graphic novels, or non-fiction books.
* To qualify for bonus points, your book must be at least 200 pages long. For this challenge, you can add together page counts to earn page points, but you cannot add together page counts to earn bonus points.
* You can only earn one type of bonus points per book, you can't earn both Bandwagon and Trendsetter bonus points for the same book.
* Higher page count editions may be used when claiming points for pages, but page counts for iphone/ibook editions will not be accepted, and neither will page counts for audiobook/cd/mp3 editions, or 'flipback' or dwarsligger editions (you are still welcome to read in these formats, but must use a different page count). We will also not accept a page count which is more than double the next highest for that book. (If there is an edition of a book which has 600 pages, and 3 others which are only 150 pages, then we will not accept the 600 page edition for page count as it is more than double the next highest page count.)
* We request that you leave us a link to the edition with the page count that you are using if the book has multiple editions with different page counts.
* Please do not go back and alter posts once they have been counted, if you need to make a change, please make a new post on your team's review thread, with a link to your original post, and then explain the change, for example; a higher page count edition has been found, or a buddy read needs to be added, and please include links.
* We will be tracking the number of books that people are reading, to see whether they are reading the minimum number of books required for the level of team that they are on. If over a period of several months you are consistently reading less than the required number of books, we will ask you to move to a lower level of team, or go solo. This is because it is unfair to other team members if you continue to sign up for a medium/serious team, yet are only reading 2 books a month.
* If you have joined a medium or serious team more than once and have not read the minimum number of books each time (8 for medium, 12 for serious), then I will message you before teams are posted to let you know that I won't be able to put you on a medium or serious team if that is what you have requested. You will still be able to join a fun team, or as a solo player.
* If you have been told in the past that we can't put you on a serious or medium team, then we will expect you to read the minimum number of books for the level of team you want to join for at least 2 consecutive months before adding you to a serious or medium team again. During this time you are welcome to join a fun team, or join as a solo player.
* This challenge will run on Goodreads time, which is Pacific Standard Time - https://greenwichmeantime.com/time-zo...
* You are welcome to start the challenge on the 1st of the month in your own time zone, but you must also finish the challenge on your own time zone. Please let us know if you are doing this, as Goodreads may time stamp your books as being started on the last day of the previous month.
* Our regular challenge rules can be found here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
*** If you are not sure if your book counts, please ask before you read it. Questions can be posted on this thread, or sent by personal message to myself.***

Points :
* Points will be awarded based on pages read:
*100 - 199 pages = 1 point
*200 - 299 pages = 2 points
*300 - 399 pages = 3 points
*400 - 499 pages = 4 points
*500 - 599 pages = 5 points
*600+ pages = 6 points
(maximum of 6 points per book)
* Buddy reads DOUBLE your points score for pages, so a 300 page book + buddy read = 6 points. 600 page book + buddy read = 12 points. (Bonus points for buddy reads will only be given if the buddy read has taken place in our group.)
* Bonus points will be awarded, as detailed above in message 2 ↑

Team Name:
__________|_Books_|_Buddy_|__Page____|_Bonus_|__Total
__________|_Read__|_Reads_|__Points__|_Points|
Name______|___0___|___0___|_____0____|___0___|_____0
Name______|___0___|___0___|_____0____|___0___|_____0
Team______|___0___|___0___|_____0____|___0___|_____0
Please note - we will be tracking how many books you have read, but you will not receive points for this column. This is to allow us to see whether you are reading the minimum number of books required for the level of team that you have requested to be on. You will receive a '1' for every book over 100 pages long, or for every 300 pages of graphic novels, poetry etc, that you have read. If you consistently ask to be on a Serious or Medium team without reading the minimum number of books, you may be asked to drop down to a lower level team.

This challenge will be a team challenge. When signing up please let us know if you want to join a 'Serious' team (reading 12 books or more each), a 'Medium' team (reading 8-12 books each) or a 'Just for fun' team (reading any number of books each).
***Please only sign up for 'Serious' or 'Medium' if you are able to read the minimum number of books for that level of team, so 3 books a week for Serious, and 2 books a week for Medium.
This means that so far this year someone in Serious would have read at least 42 books, and someone in Medium would have read between 28 and 42 books.***
You may also sign up as a solo participant, and will compete against your other solo competitors, as well as those people in teams. An individual leaderboard will be published at the end of the challenge.
Teams should be posted by April 24th at the latest. If you wish to join a 'Serious' or 'Medium' team, please sign up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. You may join as a solo player, or join a fun team at any time.
Thank you! ☺

Answered Questions:
Q - Also for the never read before can that just be never read while on goodreads? Like for instance I have read HP before but long before Goodreads.
A - It all depends on whether you have it marked as 'read' on Goodreads. We can only go by what Goodreads says, so if you've read it before, but haven't marked it as 'read' on Goodreads, and you don't tell us that you've previously read it, then we'll count it as not having been read before ☺
Q - Sarah for the bonus points if a book has never been buddy read in this group before, do you have to do a buddy read for the book? Or can you just make a note that it has never been buddy Red before?
A - If when you post the book you claim the bonus for never being buddy read before, I'll just do a search to see if we have a buddy read thread for that book. It doesn't matter whether you are buddy reading it or not though, and if there is a buddy read thread but it is starting on or after May 1st 2019, then that won't count against you either ☺
Q - I might have a rating for them. O.o Does that count? No review or read date!
A - You need to have marked it as 'read' as some people rate things based on how much they like the author or how excited they are for the book and such ☺
Q - I see where the ratings are on a book post but where do you fine the info about how many have "shelved" the book? I keep searching for the number of times it's been shelved
A - I have written it on the 2nd post, and marked it with *** so that if you ctrl-f *** it will hop to it. Here it is again though ☺ -
*** If you go to an author's page on Goodreads, like this - Jackson Pearce
Scroll down the page until you see ''author's' books' - eg: 'Jackson Pearce’s books' above the list of books written by that author. Click on ''author's' books' eg: 'Jackson Pearce’s books', and it will bring up another page with a list of books published by that author, if you then look at the top under the author's name it will tell you how many times that author has been shelved. Eg: Jackson Pearce has been shelved 198,871 times (probably more now!).
Q - The book The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater would count as popular, right?
A - The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater has 210,505 ratings, and Maggie Stiefvater has been shelved 2,726,912 times.
So going with Bandwagon bonus points -
+2 points if your book has more than 30,000 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' at least 100,000 times on Goodreads. ✔ Yes
+2 points if your book has more than 500,000 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' at least 1,670,000 times on Goodreads. ✔ Yes
+2 points if your book has more than 1,000,000 ratings on Goodreads OR be written by an author who has been 'shelved' at least 3,340,000 times on Goodreads. ✖ No.
(and yes, those add up ☺)
+2 points if your chosen book has been made into a film or TV series. ✖ No.
+2 points if your book has been buddy read in this group before (prior to May 2019). ✔ Yes
+2 points if your book was first published more than 10 years ago (prior to May 1st 2009). ✖ No.
So that would be 6 bonus points ☺
(as long as you haven't read it before ☺)
Q -

A - That one would count as poetry, if you look on the right-hand side of the books Goodreads page it has been shelved 1,660 times as poetry, so we'd count it as poetry too ☺
Q - Hey Sarah, of the Bandwagon, the second bonus says 500,000 rating but author only needs 167,000? That doesn't make much sense. As that would make the book that as well
And that 1,000,000 is going to be insane tough! Even with nearly 13,000 books on my TBR only 10 or so have that many ratings! Such a huge jump from the original 30,000!
A - Sorry, I noticed I'd missed an '0' yesterday so I edited it in the first posts which lists the bonus points, but forgot to edit it in the post lower down ☺
Yep, the 1,000,000 is high, but hopefully you'll be able to get to the max of 6 bonus points without using that one most of the time as the more popular books have been buddy read in the group before, or turned into a film or tv show, or have been published more than 10 years ago ☺
Q - @Sarah
Does a pseudonym count as being the same author?
Eg. V. E. Schwab has around 1.1 million shelved and Victoria Schwab has around 880k, and there is no book overlap between them. Would I be able to add those up and consider her an author with 1,670,000+ shelved, or can we only use the shelved count for the author name used on the specific book?
A - if it's obvious on Goodreads - that is it has to say either on the book's Goodreads page that its a pseudonym, or on the author's page, then you can use either the pseudonym or the real name, so for

and for

If it wasn't obvious though, and we couldn't clearly see that the name was a pseudonym for another author, then we wouldn't be able to count it. Does that make sense?
A - Sorry, I don't think I answered your question, you'd have to pick one or the other to use, you wouldn't be able to add them together because on that book for example, both authors are listed on the books page, and the book then appears under both author's shelves, so if you added together the times shelved by each author name, you'd be counting that book twice.
You could in theory add them together if the author wasn't listed on both works though, so

Q - im going to sign up for fun please but i have a question. I have been in college since september so my reading has gone way down i finish the second week of may. Would i be able to join a medium team in June even though my reading will be a lot lower only because of the college months? Thanks :)
A - I would only usually prevent someone from joining a medium team if they've joined medium 2 or 3 times, and haven't read at least 8 books each time. You haven't done that, so there would be no reason for me to not allow you to join a medium team ☺
Q - for the last rule on trendsetter- Is it okay if they have written more books as long as it is the first they ever wrote that we are reading. Or is this applying to Single book/Debut authors only?
A - it would apply to debut author's, but it can also apply to people who have written more than one book, as long as it is the first book that they wrote that you are reading.
So for example -

Her first book was

Q - Question on series BRs. If the series it is a part of is a BR but that book itself is not (like a series that has 10 books but only the first 4 are ever discussed), does that make the book available as a BR book for bandwagon or would that make it a trendsetter?
Also what about BR threads that were created but never used?
A - With regards to series buddy read threads, only books that have been discussed would count as having been buddy read.
So for example

But

This also means that if you are reading the 10th book of a series, but that book hasn't been read on the series buddy read thread, then you wouldn't be able to claim the +2 bonus points for the book having been buddy read in the past.
Threads that were created but never used won't count for the Bandwagon bonus points for the book having been buddy read previously, but also won't count against you when claiming Trendsetter bonus points.
So, for instance,

Q - Apologies if this has already been asked but can we claim bandwagon points AND trendsetter points?
A - you can't claim both Bandwagon points and Trendsetter points on the same book, but it's fine for you to claim Bandwagon points on one book, and Trendsetter points on another. You don't have to stick to one type for the whole month ☺
Q - @sarah Just making sure I'm not too confused (as usual).... So if I read

A - Hi, for that book you could claim -
+2 bandwagon bonus points for 'author who has been 'shelved' at least 100,000 times on Goodreads.
+2 points if your book has been buddy read in this group before (prior to May 2019).
So you'd get 4 bonus points ☺
And you're right, you wouldn't be able to claim Trendsetter bonus points because the book and author have been rated/shelved above the maximums for that type of points ☺
Q - Are we able to get trendsetter AND bandwagon points for the same book? In particular, Undying. It has less than a thousand ratings, but both authors have been been shelved hundreds of thousands of times.
A - Nope, you can only claim one type of bonus points for one book. Maybe you could look and see which kind would earn you the most?
Q - Okay, so, I’m new to these challenges and am a bit confused.
So the reviews should go book cover, bandwagon bonus if any, & then rating bonus if any.
So then we link our review..? Like post a review in the book then link it?
Also, if we don’t have a buddy for that certain book, do we just put like N/A or something? Or should we do a buddy read for all books.
Also x2, we put the number of pages and then link it to the book, right?
A - *The rating are part of the bonuses
* No you dont have to buddy read evry book you just get extra points for it. If its not a buddy read you can either not put it or put no.
* For pages you look for the highest page count and link it.
Q - as I'm reading over the rules: autobiographies will not count for bonus points as they are nonfiction, right?
A - Correct ☺ Autobiographies would be non-fiction, so you'd only earn page points +/- buddy read points, not bonus points ☺

Answered Questions -
Q - also, how do I know how many times an author has been shelved?
A - it's posted in the second post on the main page, underneath the examples, but here it is again ☺ -
*** If you go to an author's page on Goodreads, like this - Jackson Pearce
Scroll down the page until you see ''author's' books' - eg: 'Jackson Pearce’s books' above the list of books written by that author. Click on ''author's' books' eg: 'Jackson Pearce’s books', and it will bring up another page with a list of books published by that author, if you then look at the top under the author's name it will tell you how many times that author has been shelved. Eg: Jackson Pearce has been shelved 198,871 times (probably more now!).
Q - for 'less than 1,000 ratings' does that count as of May 1 or as of when we start/finish reading it?
A - It counts from when we check it, as we've got no way of knowing how many ratings a book had on May 1st. If you think that a rating is going to change a lot between you deciding to read it and you posting your review, then you'll have to ask me to check it and make a note of the rating when you start reading it. If you post a book which has more than 1,000 ratings when I check it, then I won't be able to give you the bonus points ☹
Q - Sarah, for the Bandwagon points of book has been a buddy read before, do you mean just a regular buddy read or a group buddy read that people voted for?
A - It's just a regular buddy read, but GBRs will count too ☺

Berit is right and it's posted on message 2, right at the bottom, if you go to message 3 - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... and scroll up a bit you'll see it.
Tiera has also copied it in her comment ☺
Sorry it's a bit of an odd one, it's one of those things on Goodreads that you either know how to find or you don't I'm afraid ☺
Q - Sarah, if you buddy read a book this month that has previously been a buddy read prior to May, does it count for that bonus?
A - Yes, you don't have to be buddy reading it this month for it to count though, so if you're reading Just One Year, then that would count for the +2 bonus points for it having been buddy read previously - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... but you could claim those points whether you're buddy reading it this time, or if you're reading it on your own ☺
Q - Will
count for page points? I know it will probably not count for any bonuses because of the illustrations in it.
A - this edition - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... has 304 pages, which will earn you 1 page point ☺ You are right that it wouldn't count for bonus points though x

It all depends on whether you have it marked as 'read' on Goodreads. We can only go by what Goodreads says, so if you've read it before, but haven't marked it as 'read' on Goodreads, and you don't tell us that you've previously read it, then we'll count it as not having been read before ☺

This will be a team reading challenge which will run from May 1st 2019 to May 31st 2019. Results will be announced on June 1st 2019.
This challenge is based on a suggestion by Kelly, a long, long time ago! Thanks Kelly!
To complete this challenge, participants will be split into teams. Each team will read books of their own choice (which fit the challenge guidelines), and points will be awarded based on the length of the book, and whether you have buddy-read your book.
The idea behind this challenge is to read books which are very popular, but which you haven't read yet, OR books which are not yet popular, but might be soon ☺ All books count for page points +/- buddy read points, but you can also earn bonus points as explained below☺
