Since, other than with different spellings/alphabets, it makes no difference in the search (both encompass the same name), and also having both profiles can cause problems if different editions use FL versus LF.

So, the way the name is published isn't right?
All editions should have the primary author name as the standard or most common Roman (that is, English-language) version of the author's name.

I don't understand what you're saying here. Natsume Soseki is published on English language editions as Natsume Soseki.

So not as the manual says "the most common English language name"?

I knew I had asked about this before. I found you had a different opinion in this post.

I have tried to fix Natsume Sōseki numerous times, which has been changed to Sōseki Natsume. I have even left a librarian note. (See page 14 of the edits.) I have flagged the change and note deletion, but I'd like clarity for this author and I'm sure there are others.
