I am kicking off with Nova Express starting tomorrow. Heard Kate is starting with that as well.
Hope there'll be anything worth discussing, they all say this volume is best of the three, so fingers crossed!

None of my local libraries is carrying Nova Express, so I'm skipping that one. My next read for the group will be Three-Body Problem, but I'll likely read something else before that.
I'm not ready to start on either yet. I'll need several days to finish The Soft Machine, then I'll start on Nova Express. 3-Body won't be far behind.
Got hold of Nova Express after all, and since I seem to want to inflict punishment on myself for some reason, I started it today as well.

I have to warn you: Nova Express is quite strange, not sure I'd like to keep it after reading, so library loan an be a better option if available

Thanks, I got a similar comment by messaging, but I share my kindle account with my oldest (who is also working through the list) so if its available I'd rather purchase if I'm able, especially since it takes up no space on my bookshelf. . . of course I just bought a new bookshelf, but that's mostly going to be taken up with volumes of Talmud and associated reference. Today V39p15 LOL.

Libraries maybe? Many allow checkout through online apps. I was able to borrow Trail of Lightning that way.

I can get The The-Body problem on Google play - I'll have to see if I can convert ePub and read it on my Kindle - because I'm addicted to it!!
Since I'm fairly new to ebooks, perhaps you could email me with some info on where you were able to get Trail of Lightning?

Jeanette, I feel for you, I do. One of my favorite books of all time is available on Kindle UK, but they won't sell it to me because I am in the US.
Doorways in the Sand by Roger Zelazny. And there are many more. Annoying

On e-books and getting them:
1. libraries are great. If you have a person in the US, who can share their card ID/pass with you, you can get books even in other countries. I do.
2. Amazon can be fooled into believing that you're in a specific country, like the USA to get access to the books

I'll probably start with Trail of Lightning, so that I have a light buffer between The Three-Body Problem and the rest of the reading material. Got over two weeks of reading to catch up on, just managed to get to one third of the way through TBP today, but I'll try kcocking the most of that between tonight and tomorrow. I haven't even had the chance to see what everyone wrote in the spoiler thread.
I started Blackfish City on Friday and I'm pretty hooked to the story. I'm close to 70% through with it.

Have been collecting books a bit and can recommend a few other sites.
this book available at Internet Archive which honors copyrights, spam free etc. Book is encrypted pdf and read with Adobe Digital Editions. Have found quite a few of Zealzny here like A Night in the Lonesome October.
Another source for older books is Project Gutenberg e.g. Project Gutenberg Philip K. Dick
suspect this is old news but never know.
Will look for the audible read of Trail of Lightning as that is high on my TBR and preferred format.

I for one try planning my group reading schedule ahead, so I decided to make a thread where moderators and members could advertise in advance which of the Monthly Reads they are tackling first, this will allow us discuss thing in real time, as we all go along.
