Here's where you can post about upcoming events - appearances, interviews, giveaways, and new releases. If you want to set up a topic with your name and use it for all your posts here, that would be great. Fewer posts to troll through, and your latest post would still put you in chronological order. If you do separate posts for everything, ok, but I'll move them to archives after a month, or two if I get behind.

R. Marquez Out today!

“The Devil Lies in Couper,” a full-length novel, is Book #4 of the Matty Cruz Mystery series.

http://www.amazon.com/Devil-Lies-Coup...

Despite a bad start, Matty Cruz is optimistic that her new life as a young retiree in Couper, Washington is finally going well. She has a loyal dog, new friends, and perhaps even a man in her life who might become more than a friend some day--if Matty allows it.

But nothing is ever easy in Couper. Relationships go bad, neighbors become vengeful, people she thought she could count on let her down, and someone even threatens her adorable, little terrier. And if that isn't enough, a serial killer is loose in the city and he may be coming after Matty.

Full of confidence, Matty is sure she can handle it all.

Excerpt from “The Devil Lies in Couper”:

Matty switched to the news channel website that had reported that both Esmeralda and Maria might have been tortured. She found nothing new there. The site did show photos of the two victims. Matty studied them. The two could have been sisters. Both were close to the same age, late forties or early fifties, had shorter black hair, and dark-brown eyes. Why did they look so familiar to Matty?

A shock went through her. She deserted the computer for a quick minute to retrieve a hand mirror from her bathroom. First, she stared at her own face, and then at the computer monitor. She could be sister number three.

Hello Beth. I couldn't find in the cozy group discussions where I posted that I was reading Breakfast with Buddha. You wanted to know how I liked it. I think the novel is extremely thought provoking and I would give it a 4 or 5 stars. I believe it would be very worth your while reading it. At a later date I will write a review.

Meg sat on the edge of the bed counting the chimes from the antique Grandfather clock, in the downstairs grand hall. One, two, three, four, four am. She had heard Steve come home, stumble up the stairs, and shut his bedroom door, around two in the morning. By now he’d be deep into a drunken sleep not waking till late in the day or early evening. If she was going to get out of here, NOW was the time to go.

Earlier in the day she had packed one of the larger suitcases, that she could carry on her own, hiding it in the small closet under the staircase. Grabbing one of her larger tote bags, she placed the overstuffed bank bag inside, along with her new driver’s license and other ID. Checking the battery on the new cell phone, and pulling the power cord from the wall, she took one last look around the room. Wiping a single tear from her cheek, she walked out the door, and into the long hallway.

Moving as quietly as she could, she descended the massive winding staircase into the grand hall, pulled out the suitcase, and walked out the front door. She turned one last time to look at the home she had grown up in, I can’t stay. If I do, he will find a way to kill me. Struggling with the suitcase, she managed to walk two blocks down the road, where she found the cab she had called earlier, waiting on her. Thirty minutes later she had arrived at the bus station.

At the ticket window, Meg purchased a one way ticket to the furthest point the bus line offered, then walked outside to wait the thirty minutes till the bus arrived. Breathing deeply, Meg was able to release a bit of the tension that was trying to put a knot in her neck. Step one completed. Four days later, she had lost track of the number of times she had changed buses.

Conversational Lies (Moriston House Mystery #5) by Jennifer A. Girardin

Conversational Lies.

Crime is always at home in the cozy English village of Halfereton...where every mystery just happens to drop in for tea! As the Moriston House Mystery Society contemplates the perfect English crime, they are interrupted in their cozy conference by the discovery of the death of local nobody Bernard Alton, a retired local businessman with a gloriously empty past. Suspicion immediately falls upon the mousy maid, Eleanor Norton, who had every reason to have committed the crime, and who would have inherited the Alton’s mysterious home, Hazelwood Cottage. Clues abound in the form of friendly blackmail letters, delightful death threats, and a colorful canvas of unreliable witnesses, and when a murder weapon is found at the Lodge of Moriston House, Lord Hugo Anstead and his sleuthing companions are cordially invited to solve the crime. Local journalist and queen of crime Marjorie Branell-Markson is convinced that the crimes were committed by the Alton's waxy nephew, Raymond Wilde, whose penchant for cocktails in the morning and philandering in the afternoon adds a little cream to the crime. And when poisonous petunia Joan Alton is murdered before Christmas, no one in the gossipy English village of Halfereton is the least surprised. A collection of ready suspects ring a jolly tune, including arty hanger-on Ann Harmon, local perfectionist Frederick Caldwell, social wallflower Claudia Morris, and flighty Bernadette Collier, who all have a tendency of lying through their teeth. And when the strange suspects are attacked without rhyme or reason, Lord Hugo must match wits against a cunning murderer...and discover the truth among a pack of dangerous little lies. Join us for the Moriston House Mystery Series.... where classic crime is always at home!

The new French De Ception by Jennifer A. Girardin from Moriston House Mysteries, where classic crime is always at home.

The French De Ception
A Moriston House Mystery By Jennifer A. Girardin
Crime is merely a hedgerow away in the sleepy English village of Halfereton, pleasingly nestled among gently rolling hills, cozy old world cottages, and the latest unsolved mystery. As England’s avid crime host, Lord Hugo Anstead continues the tradition of the English country house mystery, and cordially invites the local sleuths to Moriston House, where every mystery just happens to drop in for tea. Ambitious journalist and voice of the village Marjorie Branell-Markson can’t dismiss the accidental death of local resident Camilla Alden, whose sudden demise rattles the quiet village. And when a mysterious French railway timetable is found in her garden, she is convinced that another crime is waiting in the wings. And she is right. Soon another wide-eyed local becomes the focus of a string of crimes, and is attacked before she realizes the connection between her recent travels in France--and Camilla Alden’s death. Several bewildered suspects cloud the sunny investigation, including shady local gardener and part-time blackmailer Philip Hanson, who prunes the roses--and the pockets--of his unfortunate neighbors. Taking a break from his role as England’s shyest chap, blundering George Durham makes a charming suspect. Debonair Gérard Dubois certainly has something significant to hide, and mousy Jeannette Belsoinne’s murderous culinary skills leave nothing to chance. The village’s Mystery Society eagerly travels to France to discover the truth, while a collection of ambitious sleuths hurry to solve the case, including young adventuress Elizabeth Branell-Markson, devious Olivia Crane, and dotty Jane Holden, whose cozy knitting adds a classic touch to the crime. Sophisticated Anne-Marie Maudrer soon engages the sleuths to unravel another unsolved mystery, as the ambitious detectives sift through a collection of deliciously false clues and hurry to solve the case...before there is another murder. Pack your bags for The French De Ception...and don’t forget your passport!
