Pass The Magic On

By the way, here's what the new covers look like for the campaign, whoever's curious.

I know right! I'm planning to buy a complete set, my HP books are in tatters. But considering the intent they were designed with, the Chamber of Secrets cover strikes me as a major mistake. A better scene could have been the Duelling Club, I think. If I were a kid, read the first, and then saw Harry and Draco fighting on the front cover, no way I was missing that.
Recently, Bloomsbury redesigned the books, new covers, interior art, everything, in a campaign to pass the magic on.
The idea is to bring a new generation of readers, kids who haven't seen the movies, read the books or anything, and introduce them to it.
That being said, I have two points I thought would be interesting to discuss.
1. Am I the only person that thinks it's much too early? It's only been 7 years since the last book was released.
2. This is the cover for Chamber of Secrets. Keep in mind this is for a new generation, with no exposure. How much different would the book have felt to you if from inception you'd known that Slytherin's Monster's a big fucking snake?
