David Dennington | 46 comments Has anyone published a screenplay on Amazon? I see one of Nevil Shute's books, Vinland the Good, was written in a film treatment format. I also saw Downton Abbey published as a screenplay but in a weird format. I am writing my books into typical shooting script format and would like to publish them that way. Does anyone know if that format can be supported by Amazon and Kindle. The software I use is Movie Magic.

Phillip Murrell | 427 comments I put a few screenplays to Amazon Studios, but none were taken. I recently got an email that they were going to stop accepting unsolicited material.

I believe you can publish that way and Movie Magic will convert to a .pdf, so no problems there.

Thank you Phillip for your response. I know it's a waste of time submitting screenplays to any production companies, producers or directors. They don't have time (and I can't blame them) for dealing with any Tom Dick or Harriette. I just want to publish my screenplays in book form for the hell of it.

Phillip Murrell | 427 comments I understand. My first book was originally written as a ten-episode teleplay. I converted it. It took time, but I felt it was more reader friendly for most than a screenplay format.

So, what was the format you published in finally?

Phillip Murrell | 427 comments I published my novel through KDP. I used Word to type it after converting from Movie Magic.
