So good to be among the old friends from Phineas Finn. Lord & Lady Chiltern and their new baby, the unhappily married Lady Laura Kennedy, Even curmudgeonly Lady Baldock! Plus, new romantic prospects in young Adelaide Palliser and Gerald Maule. And, of course, all the political cronies.

It will be interesting to see if the interim two years will have matured Phineas into a force with which to be reckoned.

How are we doing? Have I lost everyone?

Bharathi (bharathi14) | 158 comments No Renee you have not lost me. I finally got the book from the library and have started reading now. I enjoying the company of old friends. Phineas is going to meet Lord and lady Chiltern. I am excited. Much more excited than I ever was reading about Lizzie Eustace.

Yeah. Me, too. Yet I was told that The Eustace Diamonds was the most "fun." I guess I like characters I can like.

Bharathi (bharathi14) | 158 comments I quite enjoyed all that happened in Chiltern residence. Violet is the same as ever. I loved her arguments. To think that she was created by a man is amazing. She spouts 20th century wisdom in a 19th century novel. Trollope is far ahead of his time.

Hilary (agapoyesoun) | 188 comments I'm afraid I have only got as far as chapter one. Just back from holiday. I'm still hopeful at this point in time, but not at all certain. I did not expect to have so little reading time when I was away! Anyhow, I shall how it goes.

Always glad to hear your comments when you get there. Hope your vacation was fabulous.

Hilary (agapoyesoun) | 188 comments Thanks Renee. Athens - a remarkable city. The Acropolis - 2500 years old. Crazy!
I do hope to join you. :-)

Bharathi (bharathi14) | 158 comments Glad you had a good time. I am sure, you will catch up in no time. This book is such an easy read.

Hilary (agapoyesoun) | 188 comments Thanks so much Bharathi! :)

Helen_in_the_uk | 109 comments I haven't managed to get started on this book. I knew my house move was imminent, but greatly underestimated the amount of time it would consume! We have now been in the new house a week, but there is so much to do I am struggling to find any reading time when I'm awake enough to concentrate!! Have fun guys :)

Awww! Life is annoying like that! It's a great read, Helen, for when things settle down. So far my favorite of the Pallisers.

Hilary (agapoyesoun) | 188 comments Ch 6 now. Wow, I'm having difficulty getting time to read. I'm pretty sure I'm going to like this if I could only get going properly!

I think you, too, Hilary. I wouldn't be putting it down if I didn't have to work.
