LITTLE BOOK CLUB discussion

To anyone about to, is, or already has read The One by Kiera Cass! I will be reading it for the impromptu readathon. If you are spoiling anything please make sure to give warnings!

So how did you like it?

I really enjoyed it! Definitely not as much as the first book, but it was fun. Like okay can we talk about the ending though I was in class when the attack starting happening! I was skimming it and wasn't really sure what happened till I started watch if reviews and I was like WAIT WHAT WHO DIES NOOO

Yeah i know i had to re-read that bit to try and understand. I actually felt sad when *SPOILER TO ANYONE TO HASEN'TREAD IT* celeste died, i was reallystarting to like her. Do you think anna died as well because they don't say she does they just say that she wasn't anywhereto be found and has just dissapeared?

*Spoilers* (I'm gonna go ahead and make this group private cause I don't think anyone else will join so we don't have to say there's spoilers lol)

I know! I mean I thought the whole Celeste being my "BFF" was super random, but she acted as a relief to America's turmoil. One of my
favorite scenes was when the elite and the queen were all taking pix w/ maxon's camera! And tbh I think Anne did die I was watching a review and they said it also there is no mention of her. I think she died so like Aspen and Lucy could get together tbh.

i was kinda sad when I read about Anne disappearing but it made sense, like you said so Aspen and Lucy to be together.

when Maxon found out about Aspen I felt so bad for America, and him actually, because she had just come to the conclusion that she was in love with him and then that little bit of info comes and ruins it all. tbh I thought he was kind of just playing being angry in the choosing ceremony bit with her saying he would pick the other girl but actually then pick her. it wasn't until the shooting started that and he was protecting the other girl (I can't remember her name :s) that I thought maybe he really does hate her at this point.
but it worked out in the end, I mean he took a bullet for her, and if that isn't love I don't know what is :)

I hated Maxon's reaction! I was like okay you just proposed and you obviously saw how much America loves you, yet you go and pick Kris?? I actually really hated Kris in this book as well. She was so annoying and that Elise girl was sort of pointless. But when Maxon was trying to protect America my heart wept. I literally thought he died and I was like no no I'm so done with this series.

I know and then aspen just drags her away while maxon is lying on the floor bleeding and all i could think was if aspen carried maxon then america would have gone willingly anyway and it would be fine.

And it's just come to me but did you find it really sad when her father dies? And ghe scenes when she comes back home are so awkward to read because she's changed so much and her brothers such and annoying idiot i mean come on your father just died and left you the house and you're still complaining. What's wrong with him?

Hey did you guys hear about The Heir coming out in the spring? If you didn't I thought you guys might like to know :)

Also, I read The One back when it first came out, and the ending didn't really sit well with me. I'm not sure how many people agree with me, but I thought the ending felt rushed and forced! Which stinks, because I was really enjoying The Selection series up to that point! D:

Yeah i agree with you it was rushed. I had to re-read the bit when the rebels attacked and the moments after when she's trapped in that room because i didn't understand everything that happened the first i read it. Although i am glad that she ended up with maxon however rushed the ending was

Whose The Heir by and what's it about?

I heard about The Heir! I don't know much about it, but I am hoping its not going to drag on America and Maxon's story tbh I wish Cass would make a book about the Queen Amberley's Selection. I feel like she rushed it too :/ I feel like Cass realized how much she dragged it out and how she set so much up and so she had to let it go down with a bang you know?

It's just I thought a lot of cool things happened in the first and second books. Then the last book was just kind of a letdown to me. I don't know... I'm sure I'll read The Heir and whatever else comes out in the series,I just hope she kicks it up a notch!
