I added it to the nominations because I know it involves magic, but is it about witches? I haven't read it.

It's about a girl who is a necromancer which I guess can be considered a type of witch? I don't remember any specific references to witches though from when I read it. But it does have some witchy elements to it (a magical cat for instance)

Kristie | 5928 comments Thank you, Emily. Other people I have reached out to have similarly mentioned that it is about necromancy, but stated that there are no witches in it.

Kristie | 5928 comments Mary-ellen - After speaking with some friends of mine that have read the book, they said that there is necromancy, but no witches. So, unfortunately your book doesn't meet the theme requirements. Please feel free to nominate another book. You can add Sabriel to the general nominations, if you choose.

Lauren | 72 comments I would like to nominate: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia, #1) by C.S. Lewis

Jocelyn Khor | 9 comments I nominate Fiendish by Brenna Yovanoff.

Fiendish by Brenna Yovanoff

message 17: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new)

Kristie | 5928 comments Hi Jocelyn - Just checking, are you sure that Fiendish is about witches? There is no mention of "witch" in the synopsis and it is not shelved as witches at all. I also checked some reviews and none that I checked mentioned a witch. Unfortunately, magic does not always refer to witches.

That's fine, thanks Kristie. Sorry, I'm only just catching up on all of these posts now. I haven't actually read it, so was going off what a friend told me.

Kristie | 5928 comments No problem, Mary-Ellen. Sorry, I can't add it. I'm really trying to keep with the theme that was voted on.

Mary-ellen (missy666) | 545 comments No problem Kristie. My second choice is already there, so all good from my perspective. :-)

Oh, I see. I'm not sure if it involves witches but I actually found this book when I was browsing through the witches shelves. Maybe I got it wrong then. I apologize for my mistake, sorry! *bows*

Kristie | 5928 comments No worries! I'm just trying to stick with the theme and I don't always know all the books.
