Booknblues | 12060 comments My newest kindle, which I have really enjoyed, is being sent back to Amazon, because I am having difficulty charging it. The charger is not fitting in tightly and is charging super slowly and one night didn't charge at all but drained the battery.

Luckily, it is under a year old and still under warranty, but I have to send it back for them to fix, but it could take up to 14 days (good heavens, how will I manage?)

Now, I do have 2 other kindles my 2nd does not seem to want to download the book, which I am currently reading.

So I am charging up my 1st and very old kindle, so I might finish current read and then hopefully move on to my trim the tbr book.

If that doesn't work. I will read 2 trim the tbr's next month and try to finish some of my many DTBs. Which of course isn't a bad thing.

I'm just feeling a little shaky.

Booknblues | 12060 comments I was able to get it to work by managing it from my pc.

And my very old kindle, downloaded the book just like that, no problem.

I read all my kindle books on my laptop, and my husband reads them on his ipad. You can send a book to up to 4 (or 5?) devices. My laptop is bigger and brighter than my kindle, so it's much easier for me to read (I need a large font and sharp contrast). It's not easy to carry, but that's OK with me. Give it a try!

Booknblues | 12060 comments I don't have a laptop. My older smaller kindles seem to be working in the mean time, although I miss my newest.

So sorry to hear you are struggling with your Kindle. I have had some problems with one of mine charging too! But it is out of warranty. I managed to get it situated . . .

Booknblues | 12060 comments I hope yours works out, Anita.

I squeaked in, the warranty is up in July. I'm glad that it caused me problems now rather than later.

I really love this 10inch Kindle. It is not so easy to handle as my smaller ones but the size works well for me and it had enough bells and whistles to make me happy.

My second kindle which I am using now is much smaller and has virtually no storage capacity and has to be charged constantly.

My first one is a war horse lots of storage doesn't need to be charged but without bells and whistles. I'm using it whenever the second one needs to be recharged.

It is going to be a long few weeks without it. I almost bought a book today, but it was relatively expensive and had lots of pictures, but I talked myself out of it because I don't want to read it on my smaller kindles.

Awww, I love my Kindles so I can totally relate. I have a Voyager and an Oasis. I actually like reading on the Voyager a little more, but the Oasis is waterproof and I do like the one sided handle that it has. I would be sad if I had to send one away for two whole weeks!

Hang in there!!!

I had to check out voyagers and the Oasis. Mine are all Fires- 6, 7 and 10.

Anita Pomerantz | 9280 comments Ahhh, highly suggest looking into a dedicated ereader. So much easier on the eyes and doesn't disrupt your sleep patterns. I have a fire too but rarely use it. It is nice for travelling as an entertainment device though!

I've heard that but I also like to play around while reading and use the web immediately to look things up.

I've just received word that they are replacing my kindle, so I'm sure it won't be the full 14 days. I thought it was a fixable issue, but apparently not.

annapi | 5505 comments Anita, I have been trying to decide if I should upgrade from the Paperwhite eventually - are either the Voyager or the Oasis worth the expense? I am particularly intrigued by the off-balance design of the Oasis, as my hand gets tired sometimes holding the Kindle in bed. Does it make a big difference?
