This is the 2nd AC book I plan to read this month. Hoping to start it next week.

Monica Euen | 5 comments After And Then There Were None, I was planning on reading another AC novel, so yes, why not this one? I've seen the film, so the plot won't be a surprise, but it will be interesting to find the differences between the two.

Terri (tee_reads) | 57 comments Starting this tonight! I'm almost certain I read this as a teen, (vague memories of my mom's Double Day book club edition) but I don't really remember anything about it. Anxious to re-acquaint myself!
On a side note......I recently found 4 Christie novels in the smallish trade pb editions that though small, they are VERY FLOPPY! One dollar each from Goodwill, look like they've never been read and still smell new! Great bargain finds like that make me absolutely giddy! (I might be a book nerd.) 🤓

Marie (daffodilbookshelf) (daffodilbookshelf) I just started this on audio.

Monica Euen | 5 comments Just finished reading it. I must say I like the original Hercule Poirot of the novel better than the film character.

This was so good! I finished last week and forgot to come in here to comment. I guessed that a couple of the characters were related to the case of the kidnapped girl, but didn't come close to figuring out the whole thing. Whoa! I think Christie is brilliant! I just loved trying to piece together the clues.

I loved Hercule Poirot and how his mind works. I loved his tactic of guessing what people are lying about and getting them to confess. Brilliant. Such a fun read.

Terri (tee_reads) | 57 comments Excellent book! I suspected the Countess pretty early on but I never imagined that the entire gang was involved. I agree, Christie's mysteries are brilliant. I do have one petty little annoyance. The French phrases/words drive me nuts. I never took French and only know a very few words in the language. To me it breaks up the reading flow when I have to stop and try to figure out the pronunciation and meaning of an entire sentence. All that aside, I enjoyed the book very much!
This weekend I picked up 14 Christie books at Goodwill. They are all in perfect condition and I believe never read. (There were probably 50 new condition classic mystery books by various authors. Very curious.) Anyway, I will have lots of Christie to read as time permits.

What a great Goodwill find!

Yeah, the French phrases weren't my fave either. I had forgotten about them though by the end. I listened to it on audio so in one way it added a bit of authenticity to it.
