Mimi | 6 comments I read a book in my teens in 1990s. I can't remember the name of the book. Its a love story about a young couple in late teens or early twenties. It might be set during Confederate time period and the boy went to war. Any ideas?? I would like to reread it. Thanks!

Marlene | 254 comments Mimi, I can't help you, sorry. I feel your pain, though. I remember a picture book that I read over and over again in elementary school in the early 80's called "Angie", I'm pretty sure. It had a drawing of a girl on the cover with perhaps pigtails - maybe she was a strawberry blonde? And I think there was a light green/yellow color scheme, and maybe she was wearing a dress with polka dots? No idea who the author was. I checked it out again and again and again and again and again...... I've tried searching for it on Amazon a few times with no success. Drives me crazy! Good luck on your quest! Did you check it out from the library? I don't suppose that library records go that far back......

Julie Carpenter | 140 comments That’s so frustrating when you can’t remember what it’s called but something you loved. I’ve found a movie and a book once by putting in some key words in a google search. Maybe try “book, confederate, 1990s, young adult love story (and maybe a word that describes the conflict of the book).” Maybe that will help or maybe it’ll pull up a lot of results. Good luck on finding it!

Mimi | 6 comments Thanks. It could of been the revolutionary war. I'm starting to think I dreamed it. LOL

Abigail (handmaiden) | 55 comments Have either of you tried posting your query in the group "What's the Name of That Book???" https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/... There are lots of members there, so more chances of someone knowing. And whether in this group or over there, the more details, the better.

WorldCat advanced searches can be helpful, as well. https://www.worldcat.org/

Marlene | 254 comments Abagail, those are good ideas. I decided not to post - though that group looks AWESOME - but did try another search. Still didn't come up with anything. You know, it's kind of funny that I've never come across it. I've browsed library book sales, yard sales, and thrift shops off and on in a constant quest for inexpensive books for my six children. I've never seen it. Wow!!
