For those of you, like me, who use FictFact to keep your series reading organized, you'll be saddened to learn that the site has closed. If you go to the site now, you'll see this:

We recently lost our primary source of income, Amazon Associate sales. Due to a minor error on our part, we unknowingly had in infraction of their terms. We tried to appeal after we corrected the issue, but was not successful and they terminated our account. Over the years, we have had donations from our wonderful supporters, but it is not enough to cover our operating costs. We are extremely sad to have to close down the site after almost 10 years. Thank you for all your support over the years!!

There is a link where you can download your book data as a .csv file until July 1. If anyone knows of a site that might work as a substitute for FictFact, please let me know!

I don't know of any site that does what fictfact did exclusively most of the sites out there are book cataloging sites - they function to catalog books you've read or own not really to track series and your progress in the series and to let you know your percent complete and what all your next reads are.

Barbara Sousa | 504 comments So sorry to hear this. I really thought the site was excellent. I'll have probably have to start a spreadsheet. I haven't heard of any other sites that provide this service. 😢

Marsha (marsha2c) | 41 comments I,too, rely on FictFact. I sent my complaint to Amazon. On FF fb page, a lot of people are suggesting a fee for people to join so the site can continue. To me, that sounds like a good idea. Something similar to Paperbackswap I would imagine.

Until July 1st you can download a spreadsheet from Fictfact with all your data on it. You can then just continue to maintain it.

Barbara Sousa | 504 comments I downloaded the spreadsheet, but unfortunately it only lists books that I have read (or purposely skipped). It does not list all books in the series that have yet to be read. If we are going to maintain our spreadsheets, we will have to do a lot of work.

Does anyone have any information as to whether Amazon might change its mind? Or if FictFact would come back and charge a small fee to those who want to use the site?
