Tom had fun at the Nebulas, and we’re excited about the winners. We also kick off a new book, wrap up the last one and give our thoughts about the Game of Thrones finale.

Veronica was parodying Boston's More than a Feeling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4QK8...

Veronica's Boston song parody was more apt. The thread was about a bookstore in Massachusetts ;-)

John (Taloni) Taloni (johntaloni) | 5194 comments Haaa, awesome! I was riffing on the Bee Gees' "More Than a Woman," but Veronica's "More Than a Feeling" fits better due to the Boston hook.

I like the idea of "More Than a Woman" being turned into a bookstore jingle, but alas no. It was on the soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever & was a staple of the Bee Gees live show.

terpkristin | 4407 comments Fun episode! I'm looking forward to the June pick though it will be weird to read on paper!

Tamahome | 7220 comments The Incomparable podcast actually liked the Trail of Lightning nebula nom the most, not the least.

1. Trail of Lightning (2.3)
2. Blackfish City (2.8)
3. The Calculating Stars (3.3)
4. Spinning Silver (3.8)
5. The Poppy War / Witchmark (tie, 4.5)

I'm confused!

Tamahome | 7220 comments They would have given the Nebula to Trail of Lightning. I think the number in the parentheses is the average of all the podcast participants' rankings from 1 to 5. So the lower the number the better. Trail of Lightning has a "Native American" feel. The last 2 had an old tymey writing style that a lot of them felt was more work to read.

Buzz Park (buzzpark) | 394 comments Hey Tom! Thanks for the very kind shoutout and mention of the LA meetup!

Looking forward to growing the group. Next LA meetup is June 15th.

BTW my wife and I have read all Andrew Mayne’s Jessica Blackwood and Theo Cray books since we met him at the April meetup :-)

Dara (cmdrdara) | 2702 comments I really loved your thoughts on the GoT finale and the series as a whole. Critical yet also nuanced and thoughtful. I agree with pretty much everything you guys said from the realities of writing the finale seasons and what was put to screen.

Also your Bran impressions are dope.
