Last night, as previously mentioned, I was in town for our usual metal gig, nothing much out of the ordinary except, Rod Stewart was in town for a huge gig. And the whole town went Rod mental, really, OTT stupidity. That's OK, our venue is immune from that nonsense but, what I never figured in was, by the time it came to go home, the town was still full of all these Rodders nutters, and even worse, they had taken all the taxis. Try as I might, just could not get a taxi home, and ended up walking about 6 miles, leaving town at about 1:30 am, getting home about 3:00 or so. Then I got about 3 hours sleep before starting work again this morning The sacrifices I make for my metal!!!
I gonna go sleep now, have a good week.

10 noms, 10 voters - awesome, well done everyone!A bit of a battle then, but topping the poll and grabbing this week's gold gong - Johnny's first for a while, Talk Dirty To Me. Pipped at the end but holding on for the silver, theDuke and Every Rose Has Its Thorn. And with a late surge to grab the bronze Tech with Fallen Angel.
Hair metal was never really my thing back then, and still isn't, but I could certainly see the appeal of it for those that did enjoy it. And it can't be denied, they sure knew how to have fun.
Well done Johnny etc. And cheers to those who took part, even if it wasn't their cup of tea. Nice as well that this thread wasn't turned into a 'let's all make arsey comments' snide-fest like the Michael Bolton one, which in all honesty I thought was gonna be the case again. I love my hair metal and always will.
US band Poison appeared everywhere its possible to appear back in the mid 80's-90's, and believe it or not, they are still on the go in some form or other.
Seven studio albums to choose from I think, so let's see what we can find.

Fairport gig aborted, listened to some of their recent live stuff through the week, and prefer to keep my old memories intact and save myself the rip off ticket prices. Local doom/death metal band Soothsayer on Saturday instead :-)
