Let me welcome you all to the 1st Bookathlon hosted by our group.



Duration: 3rd & 4th August, 2019

So, what is a Bookathlon?

It is a two-day event where I invite all booklovers to participate, promote and share your love for all things bookish.

My aim is to let bloggers, readers, reviewers and writers interact with and help each other out. The ultimate meet and greet , if you please.

I have created individual threads for the major genres . In those threads, you can discuss books of the respective genres with other readers - share your favourite books and tell others why you think they’re so awesome!

Authors may post links to their works and maybe garner the attention of interested reviewers. Book bloggers may also introduce their sites and even talk about the kind of books they usually review in this thread: Book blogs

I am also conducting a Read-a-thon . Let’s count how many pages you can read in these two days!

There will be a few word games:
Books A-Z
First Line
Spin A Tale

And, a team challenge as well!

Sounds fun, right?

Rules:

*Take care to introduce a book in its proper genre thread.
*Participants are requested to avoid spamming. For example: If you want to promote a Historical Romance book, then choose between Historical and Romance genre thread. You can only promote that book under any one thread. Repeated promotions will be deleted.
*Last of all, our event is for the enjoyment of Goodreads users. As such, please abide by the general rules of this group and site.

I have a question about the team challenge. Can we earn points for reading multiple books of the same genre? Or do we have to read a different genre each time?

How should we determine what genre the books we read for the team challenge should fall under when so many books fall under multiple genres?

You can read multiple books for the same genre if you want to.

The genre for which you are reading a particular book should be on the Main Page Genre list of that book on Goodreads for it to count.

If a book falls under multiple genres, it is up to the reader to choose which genre they want to use that book for.
