Alan Fuller | 28 comments If they don't like what you say and can't respond with anything meaningful they simply block you from the thread and resort to ad hominem attacks. That's when you know you've won. They also unfriend you.

Tom Rothbauer | 13 comments Alan, you have a strange definition of wining. Isn't the idea of the Christian call to spread the Gospel to help people hear the word and begin to accept it? Having people shut us out seems to be a loss to me.

I would agree with Tom. I'm not sure what to do when people react like that.

message 5: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle I’m just happy if people are willing to discuss religious issues at all.

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out.

Sometimes people won't listen. The best you can do is give them sound arguments that they can't refute.

True. That's the problem though. They won't listen. If they did then they wouldn't be atheist.

Adam Meade | 62 comments Wood, hay, and stubble, my friend. Whose purpose is being served? We can “win” arguments while losing souls, and we can “lose” arguments while planting seeds. The harvest is not ours to reep. Don’t expect a victory dance every time a seed sinks into fertile soil.

Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

message 12: by Adam (new)

Adam Meade | 62 comments Alan, I’m not saying we shouldn’t contend for the faith. That’s our mission. Just saying...try not to take things too personal. As one who used to be a vocal atheist, I can assure you that you are planting seeds. May hap that you won’t even know the true fruit of your efforts until you meet your brethren in the Kingdom. It’s all good. :)

My response: Tom, do you know what the message of the Gospel is?

What is the Gospel message Tom? (As you understand it.)

Mickey Mullen (mrmullenvcncom) | 632 comments It is not atheist that is the problem, and there is no way that a person can be saved by just listening to speak'ie. When I was saved several preachers wanted to give me their brand of redemption, but when I was a child in my dad's church I had felt the spirit of convection. Over two months I sit on the back seat of protestant churches seeking the spirit, and going to my favorite bar afterward. One night the saving Spirit (Genesis 1:2) was there. After going to the Alter several then called me (BROTHER). Were I a brother at that time? No. It was a a Gas station after I had left the church that God removed my heart and gave me another one from God. (Born again or I will give you a new heart Ezekiel 36:26.) It reads man can't save a person it takes the helper Spirit, to do that physically.

They asked Jesus who can be saved?"With Men this is impossible, but with God (Spirit Genesis 1:2) all things are possible. St Matthew 19:26 Do you read anything about speak'ie?

Thanks, Adam. I spent a period of time when I was an atheist a long time ago. I get your point.

My response: Mickey is a self-deluded heretic who believes that he is Elijah. Mickey DESPISES Jesus for telling us that John the Baptist was Elijah...

... NOT Mickey!

I was sharing the Gospel with a person, and he told me...
…"I am an atheist, thank God!"
