Toni (trepetti) Hi all
I thought it might be fun to copy the challenge here and fill in your books as you read them. Since we can edit our posts we can just edit each time we finish/start to read. Just a thought. I did not see this elsewhere but if it is there we can delete.

Annie | 3 comments Thanks for this thread!
My list of books read for the challenge:
Normal People for "on the bandwagon"
The Dry for "new voices (debut novel)"
Make Good Art for "short & sweet, fewer than 100 pages"
The Wild Trees: A Story of Passion and Daring for "set in a destination you want to visit" (the Pacific Northwest)
The Bear and the Nightingale for "not from around here, a different culture" (Russia)
Knit to Be Tied for "genre explorer" (cozy mystery)
The Night Diary for "back to school" (partition of India)

Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg for "it takes two" (coauthored)
Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead for "tongue-tied" (a translated book).

I met my goal of 10 books, 3 from the expert-level, 7 from the beginners level. Loved the variety of topics.

Kind of bummed. I read Stay literally 6 weeks before the challenge. I would've definitely used it for New Voices. Thought of using Hidden Bodies too for The Book is Better.

I have no idea, only thing I can think of is I labelled my shelf Summer Challenge and although I've only read one book so far, it immediately showed up when said read. I also used that book for two of the categories and labelled it with both the category names.

I'm sure someone else here probably a better idea but maybe that'll help you out. Try relabeling your shelf.

Suzanne (amethystperhaps) | 5 comments I'm done, yay! I've managed to read all the books I set out with a little time left over. My challenge count lists more books than I read because it didn't always take away a book from the count when I switched books. Though I know some people have chosen to read some books that can be used for more than one category, I decided to read a separate one for each because I was way behind on my 2019 reading challenge. I meant to write more here in the group, especially about what I was going to read, but I kept forgetting. So here's the list of my summer reading challenge books:

Beginners
Good as Gold: The Outsider
The Book Is Better: The Woman in the Window
Short & Sweet: Binti
On the Bandwagon: Stillhouse Lake
Actually Want to Read: Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates: The Forgotten War that Changed American History
Not from Around Here: Song of a Captive Bird
In the Friend Zone: Saving Meghan
It Takes Two: The Wife Between Us
Wheel of Format: The Handmaid's Tale: The Graphic Novel
New Voices: Descendant of the Crane
Past Love: The Wind in the Willows
Tongue-Tied: An Elderly Lady is Up to No Good

Expert
Stay Awhile: The Book Thief
No Place Like Home: The Eyre Affair
Continental Drift:
Africa: Morality for Beautiful Girls
Antarctica: Beneath the Dark Ice
Asia: The Island of Sea Women
Europe: Bruno, Chief of Police
North America: A Trick of the Light
South America: Island Beneath the Sea
Genre Explorer: Ancient Magus' Bride, Vol. 1 (The Ancient Magus' Bride, #1), The
Reading Roulette: Victoria Crossing
Primary Reading: Red Rising
Back to School: Human Errors: A Panorama of Our Glitches, from Pointless Bones to Broken Genes

Oops, I take that back, just discovered Victoria Crossing slipped under my radar, but that'll take just a couple days to finish.

For Continental Drift, I'd originally chosen Far & Away: Reporting from the Brink of Change: Seven Continents, Twenty-Five Years to cover all the continents (along with the others), but I had to drop it. He got way too political with not enough entertainment value for my taste, and I kept getting bogged down. Maybe I'll try it another time.

9/30
Finished Victoria Crossing the other day, so I am all done. This was a lot of fun; I wish GR would do challenges like this more often. I enjoy having different categories and digging through books to find the right ones that fit. And it sure helped me get further ahead on my 2019 reading challenge.
