Alyssa Fetting | 14 comments Hello everyone! I’m very excited to start talking about this book. Let me know all of your thoughts and what you would like to hear from other people. I know I’m ready to talk about the ending scene. 🖤

J.L. Platt | 55 comments I haven't read any of this series (or any of the series from this moth), but I made it a goal to read a book we are discussing each month. So, this is the one I will be reading! I will be sure to comment on the book once I am finished.

Alyssa Fetting | 14 comments Try reading the three books that come before this one. It will make a lot more sense and you’ll probably enjoy it even more. This is the 4th book in the series, reading just this one might be odd.

J.L. Platt | 55 comments Yeah, I know. I don't have a lot of spare time, though. I have read other series out of order, before. And I listened to the summaries of all the books being read this month, and this one made the most sense.

message 6: by Martha (new)

Martha (sarajomini) I won’t lie I think Warner’s panic attack is my favorite part of this book. Like how that all played out felt very relatable and then Kenji whom I love dearly coming in and talking him down was just my whole heart.

Alyssa Fetting | 14 comments I couldn’t agree more. It made me see Warner as more of a person, like I could understand that he had his vulnerabilities.

message 8: by Martha (new)

Martha (sarajomini) I agree. I really needed that. I love him and his over the top crazy obsessive nature. And the relationship between him and Kenji is so important to me.

Athena | 33 comments I loved the portrayal of Obsessive Compulsive disorder and anxiety here. It veers from the stereotypical presentation of extreme neatness. This book was super intense and I loved it. I’ve read all the books that are out now for shatter me. My favorites are this one and ignite me. I almost wished the series had stopped here( even though I also don’t want the series to end), or skipped the next book, because book five was so.. disappointing. I can’t believe I am even saying that, because the character arc’s in the rest of the series is some of the best that I’ve ever seen. But this book was great. Maybe book six will come back up to the same caliber as books 2-4? I don’t know.
I also confess to reading the Warner panic attack scene more than a couple of times, among other scenes from this book.
Chlorine, what was your favorite book of the series?

message 10: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa Fetting | 14 comments My favorite book from this series, or any series?
My favorite book from Shatter Me is Ignite me. I loved the way all the characters developed in that book.
My favorite series in general is harder to answer. It would probably be the ACOTAR series or the Divergent series. They both mean a lot to me and represent major events in my life.

Alyssa Fetting | 14 comments I also agree with you on the Defy Me part of your post. I didn’t really get into it until page 200. I feel like it could have been condensed into a novella or just added on to.

Alyssa Fetting | 14 comments What does everyone think of Nazeera? I think she would be an interesting character to discuss.

message 13: by tiberius (new)

tiberius (tiberiusbane38) | 61 comments I really liked Nazeera, I like the fact that she's a muslim, you dont get much muslim characters in books.

message 14: by Bri (new)

Bri Nazeera is so mysterious; I like her! I also love the representation in this series!

message 15: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa Fetting | 14 comments I really like how she and Kenji act together. I thought Kenji’s reactions were so funny. My favorite scene with Nazeera was when she came in wearing the hijab. It showed that she would rebel against the reestablishment for the things that were important to her.

Alyssa Fetting | 14 comments If you haven’t read Defy Me yet, what do you guys think will happen? If you have read Defy me, what do wish would have happened based on Restore Me? (No spoilers for Defy Me please)
