The genre was a YA mystery. I read it in 2014 and it came out anywhere between 2010-2014. It took place in a private school on a remote island in Wales. The protagonist was a young woman around 14/15 who was a student. The book starts with a hazing episode where other rich teenagers took her to the middle of the woods with a group of other teenagers and they needed to complete a task where dawn. I'm trying to keep it a bit vague as to not give away spoilers.
