Let's discuss!

Deborah (debh56) | 63 comments The pub was a positive experience in this sad life. I can’t imagine having a job like this and it’s sad to think of people dying alone and not being discovered for days. I think I would go to the funerals, too.

William Stanger (wcs53) | 28 comments Andrew’s job is certainly one that’s hard to imagine doing. The most difficult part of his life must be keeping the ‘facts’ of his imaginary life straight. I couldn’t help wondering what would have happened if he had taken the other job. Perhaps he could have freed himself from having to keep up the pretence of Diane and the children, or maybe he finds some kind of strange comfort in keeping up appearances like this.

deana everett | 124 comments I think he likes having his fake family. It frees him to be who he wants except when others try to encroach on his life. I fear he’s going to want to be more friendly with Peggy which will likely cause problems. I like Peggy and I think they will eventually become a couple. I don’t think her relationship with her husband is solid. I liked this section much more than the first.

I could actually see myself doing this job. I don't know what that says about me lol.

In my former career when I went to funerals, the saddest were the ones where only a few people in attendance. I think that says a lot about Andrew that he would not only do the "dirty work" but would also show up for the service when he had no obligation to do so.

I tend to think it made him feel less lonely. It sounds like he has quite the imagination which could be good and bad for someone with so much time alone.

I like Peggy too and I worry about what's down the road if their relationship continues to grow.

Nina (neensreads) | 10 comments I am really enjoying the introduction of Peggy to this story. I feel like they are both quirky in their respective ways and connect on that. Since she is married, I'm curious to see how this will play out. I'd love for Andrew to have a real companion.

Yes!! To the 500 Days of Summer reference. It seems like it only takes one person in an introvert’s life to draw them out, even a little. I hope Peggy continues to be that for Andrew.

Dai Guerra (unconventionalquirkybibliophile) | 13 comments i really enjoyed getting a glimpse into what Andrew's daily life looks like and getting to see it from Peggy's perspective since shes new to everything. Im also curious about what is going to happen with the sister? why did she contact his work place?
