Let's discuss!

deana everett | 124 comments Andrew has finally turned his sights outward. I hope he gains the courage to tell Peggy the truth. I wonder if there was a Diane somewhere in his past? The “memory” in the park was too real. It must have something to do with the song that crippled him.

I'm that way with music and scents. Something must have happened around that song. I don't think he pulled "Diane" out of thin air.

Deborah (debh56) | 63 comments I definitely agree that the song is connected to something important. This budding relationship is important, too. I hope that Peggy accepts him when the truth finally comes out.

Me too. I also worry about Andrew trying to push her away though. I'm quite familiar with that pattern of behavior. ;)

Nina (neensreads) | 10 comments Yes! Excellent points from everyone. I agree that there must have been someone in his life that was this "Diane". It must've led him to this point in his life. I also like seeing Andrew verbalize his deeper thoughts . He has more to him than meets the eye.

I agree that there is so much more to Andrew. Sadly I think his life has been one sad event after another with no one to ever talk to and express what he was feeling.

Dai Guerra (unconventionalquirkybibliophile) | 13 comments great points from everyone. I especially like when Andrew comes to the realization that he cares for Peggy. I think its such a heartwarming moment and changes the tone in the book. though I do worry that he will let her get close to him only to push her away in the end.

William Stanger (wcs53) | 28 comments It's pretty sad the way that Carl is treating Andrew. There has to be a reason his sister left him the money instead of her husband. Unfortunately it seems like Carl has managed to wear him down.

Andrew seems to have some good support in his friends on the model railway forum. They sound like a helpful bunch.

Peggy and Andrew seem to really hit it off, but the scene in the restaurant with her husband may put a damper on their friendship.

The book is really getting interesting now.
