896 pages isn't enough. No matter how good Pat is, it's not enough. Not the way he's been writing and setting things up.
No, i'm pretty sure Rothfuss would have an official press release not just have a random release date. I could be wrong though, but i'm not holding my breath
me either - that looks more like a placeholder and there was one for quite a while on amazon.com as well.

That's funny about the 896 pages--it was my first thought too. (That doesn't seem long enough!)
I dunno though, he covered the ship wreck in a paragraph in WMF.
Have there been any developments in this? Does anyone actually think this will happen?
I am forever hopeful (*looks longingly at the incomplete trilogy on her bookshelf*), but I haven't heard anything recently to make me believe it will be any time soon.

I'm looking on his site and here and struggling to find this info... I was wondering what's the last official update? Did he ever mention a draft is finished or he's in the middle of writing it? Sigh... It's been so long... I broke my rule of not reading unfinished fantasy series... :(And I agree with comments here and elsewhere... there's too much setup to finish the story in one more book :( ... no wonder he's stuck! Although I'm more than happy if this becomes more than a trilogy! :D
Hey everyone, I've just checked that the book still has a 2020 release date: August 20th, that is within three months. Could I start to get excited or has this happened before? I mean it's only 3 months, if the date has to be postponed they should have done it by now right? I would appreciate your expertise comments :)

P. Rothfuss has stated that, if he had a release date, he’d be broadcasting that fact on his site in big. Capital letters. I wouldn’t bother getting excited until he is excited.

I wish!!! But since it's July and Rothfuss hasn't made any official announcement with regards to this I doubt it. It's been so long almost ten years. These are my favorite fantasy books so I wish we could get book 3 soon... Or at least some sort of an update. A release date even if it was 2 years away would still give me hope haha.
The Slow Regard of Silent Things was pretty good, so I'll definitely be picking this one up. Still dying for book 3 though X.X
