A Tangle of Gold

I've started to enjoy it quite a bit, but I'm still only about half-way through so I'm assuming the part I've been dreading is coming up soon."

Title: The Fifth Season
Author: N.K. Jemisin"
Did you enjoy this one?
I've been told repeatedly to read it but..."
I didn't mind the tense thing at all. It's there maybe 1/3 of the book. I loved the novel. It was something I have never read before, totally unique. It's definitely fantasy, but also maybe sci-fi?? The magic system was unique and if the tense thing doesn't bother you then I strongly recommend it.
Also, for some reason the last sentence of the book made me laugh out loud while simultaneously left with a bunch of questions.
I think I'm just going to have to try getting in a sneak peak at a book store and read a page or two, then go from there.
I'm definitely not going to finish Cameron Post for this week. I haven't done a lot of reading tonight and I'm out most of the evening tomorrow (though I should be home in good time before the deadline hits) so after that somewhat sucky cozy mystery, I'm done for the week.

Even Stephen King's On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, is tagged as a horror!
Yeah I think anything King writes is tagged horror 😂
Like that last book I read had no LGBT themes and yet it has that tag due to the author. Shows how unreliable good reads genres are 😉

They certainly are! The amount of books that are tagged adult that are in fact kids books is also astounding!

Yay for finished books!
Unfortunately, we won't be able to count the traveler's guide. From the looks of it there is a large amount of photos and maps included and we don't have a proper way to verify word count.
Hope you found it helpful for planning your trip though :-)

Just speaking for myself and others I know that have read it, it's one of the most inspiring things ever written for anyone who wants to be a writer. And for a good few who don't as well, lol. :)

So much yes to all of that! (view spoiler)
Hi guys. Sorry I’m a bit quiet atm - I'm feeling rubbish. Doctor said it is a flu virus. Not one of the big four though as I've had the flu shot, but I’ve been in bed mainly sleeping for 2 days already.
Which means I’m not reading much. But my horror book is not big so I’m hopeful to get through it this weekend and will then start another.
I hope everyone else’s weekend is slightly better!

Sorry to hear that, Karen! Hopefully you'll be rid of it soon :-)
Don't worry about the books though, health comes first! :-)

Oooh nice!
That book looks quite interesting. I might give it a go once it is out in a paperback edition that is a more handy size (and a bit cheaper).

Wow, that sounds amazing Lisa! I don’t think I could do it for five weeks either. Maybe a week would do me! 😂

Yikes. I’ve heard that people who walk long distances like that lose toenails. Must have been painful 😖
