No worries! :-)
Just thought I'd give you a poke since you said you'd post later and then didn't. I know how easy it is to forget, or think you've already done it haha.

Phew! Took a little more effort than I thought it would! Great book, but the 1k pages had tiny writing, so was actually a lot more book than I was counting on, lol.
About to add it to my shelf :)
Haha, that's one of the reasons why I've been putting it off ;-)
I've enjoyed the first book but it took me ages to read!
Is the second book as good as the first? And are you going to read The Slow Regard of Silent Things?

I think it's almost as good, but that's probably personal preference. I'm a bit of a sucker for the whole bildungsroman thing, and that's definitely the first more than the second book. The second is more the epic hero's journey kind of thing.
Either way, still pretty awesome.
And yes, I'll definitely be reading that one. Just need to wait until I can get my grubby mitts on a copy, lol.
I came across it in a shop shortly after it was released and I loved the cover so I immediately bought it.
That's how I bought the first book actually o.O
Was browsing through a bookshop, saw the cover and fell in love. When I then read the synopsis on the back, there was no longer any question about whether or not it was going to go into my shopping bag haha.

Sammy, have you ever read The Sword of Shannara? Since you like epic fantasy, you might enjoy that series and the many, many spin-offs set in the same world.

I have the first and second books, and was waiting until I had the third too before starting them, lol. (I get most of my books second hand, so choice can at times be lacking!) There's nothing more frustrating than having to wait until you can read the next book in a series. *looks pointedly at Patrick Rothfuss and George R.R. Martin*...
Until a few years ago there was a brilliant second hand book stall at the city market. Every payday hubby and I would go down there, and the owner would haul out all the boxes of sci-fi and fantasy for us, and we'd browse through them all and walk away with a bag full of them for less than £10. Found some of my favourite books ever there, and discovered some fantastic authors I'd otherwise most likely never would have.
Sometimes all it takes is the cover...
I really, really miss that guy!

I found a signed copy of Dry at Forbidden Planet, that BOM will definitely happen! 😊
And I also liked The Name Of the Wind more than The Wise Man’s Fear, I thought the second one dragged quite a bit.

Hahaha, yeaaaaahh... that is definitely understandable! The books in the first trilogy do read somewhat independently though with several years or even generations in between the MCs, and every book has an ending. If that helps with the wait... ;-)
What a shame that the stall is no longer there! That would be the kind of person and place I would absolutely love as well!

I'm assuming this is now practically everyone done for this week, except for Kristel and I who are finishing up last reads?
I've got around 40 pages left, so will be done in time before the deadline.

Haha, I still have Monte Cristo on my currently-reading shelf as well from a BR last year during a team challenge - Tower Teams, I think? - where everyone outread me and I had a million other BRs going on, so I kind of just let that one slide.... I enjoyed it though while I was reading it! Need to go back to it and actually finish it.

I'm already halfway through Under a Dancing Star. Just one problem: the page count is off by a good 50 pages - it's actually 402 pages, which makes quite a difference for this challenge. Any librarians around who could fix that? 🙈
